Funky smelling ankle sleeves?

I'm not sure how often everyone else washes their ankle sleeves but I was washing mine after no more than two practices otherwise my gym bag will start smelling like joey karate's ball bag. As everyone at 10PChiraq will back me up that winter this year in northern Il has been making suicide look like a free vacation to disneyland, between the -50 F windchills, and car wrecks everywhere you look. Since it's been so cold I've been wearing socks under my ankle sleeves for the past few months. I've noticed a dramatic reduction in odor. Now I can easily go 3-4 practices without any stinking before I throw them in the washing machine just for the hell of it. Come to think about it , I haven't been yelled at by my girlfriend for a few months now about how horrible my gym bag smells.

Lol. We wear fresh ones everyday, but Sean and I have like 6 pairs or so that we share.

Dude, if you trained at our gym and I found out you were wearing gear to multiple practices without washing, I'd be forced to choke the piss out of you.

You gonna get the funk

You should really wash them after every wear. Not only will it reduce the odor but it will reduce the risk of disease. The more you repetitively wear something, the more likely you are to have it full of bacteria that will result in infections for you, your training partner or both!

the feet has a lot of nasty bacteria. Because they come in contact with the inside of your shoes, and really, how often do we wash our shoes? Every half a year?
And bacteria migrate and increase in numbers. So when you've worn the ankle sleeves once, there's a ton of different types of bacteria in them, fighting for dominance. And now they have food and water for the upcoming war as well. (Skin cells and fresh sweat)
If you don't wash them for lets say four days of practice, they will develop into super soldiers trough selective evolution, and they might even develop a super weapon. This super weapon is like an A-bomb, to end all future wars.

It is called staph, and it can eat an entire calf muscle in matters of days. :)

Damn Son... I know its been cold, but wash yo shit. :) Like Sean said "You Gonna Get The Funk". They're relatively inexpensive. While I don't wear them, I wear knee pad/sleeve things and I was the fuck out of those things.

Smell is not an indicator of clean. You can be as dirty as you want at home, but when you bring dangerous microorganisms to the gym and expose your teammates, you're fuckin up.

Multiples are the way to go if you cant wash everyday. I also have a separate laundry basket for gym clothes to keepthe funk away from normal clothes.

I used to wash my headgear after every session, simply because I knew it collected the sweat and dirt it touched. Why gi players don't wash their belt is beyond me. Ankle sleeves should be washed after jiu jitsu, just as socks need to be washed after football.

no body likes the smelly kid in class!!!!! so dont be the smelly kid in class . Nobody wants to get the funk !
