Damn Nate, that's some game changin shit right there, especially off traditional spider web. I'm gonna ad this to my game immediately. You showed it to me before but now that I seen it broken down to the core in this video I'm instantly all over it :-)
Thank you sir, drill this tonite after warm up
This is great! Thank you for sharing! I wanna try this tonight >:-)
Wow ! Some great stuff :)
i love reverse spider web, dope to see a video on it.
Some more context for ya.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CzWMUL5btco
I was lucky enough to learn that throw from you when you were still in GP. Powerful
Dropping some knowledge
Orchard ans Phill are savages
At 1:34 in the part 2 video, I'm not sure I understand what exactly your doing. I mean, why not stay tight and walk around to the other side there if you wanted that position. It might just be you made space to show it, but it seems like you made a lot of space on this one and I didn't really get the reason.
I made a lot of space so you see what was going on and I was just exagerating so they over react and turn back into me. Obviously is won't always be that pretty and smooth. It can be a scramble and you just have to get good at snatching up that kimura grip. Watch the comp footage and you will see what I mean. :)
Awesome stuff. Thanks for posting it back up
Dam like this:)
Love it
Fuckin studs!
Here another one for ya http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pi0rzkaFiF8
Legit as fuck, love it!
Do you always abandon side for the reverse kimura because you feel it is so strong?
Any guys ever turning the corner and passing off of it? (If you lose the kimura grip obviously) The reverse finish looks a lot like the standard way to switch back to traditional spider.
I am not sure what you mean by "abandon side for reverse kimura" . I just look for a kimura grip where ever I am. It will lead to the back, an arm bar, spider web or reverse spider web. We are going to answer the second question in the next vid but for now if a guy tries to turn the corner out of it sometimes they expose themselves to a triangle but there is another option that resembles a swim move. Obviously the kimura grip is everything but if you loose it just go strait for the omoplata.
I meant if you lock up the kimura grip from top control, do you ever finish the classical route of stepping over the head and finishing on top or do you always look for the reverse spider web after locking your grip.
And cool. Moura shows something similar from half guard kimura, but its not as committed to finishing the shoulder. Do you ever shoot the position without the grip? Maybe set up a swim move off the reverse deep hook
Awesome stuff
Seems like a position that your opponent wouldn't to worried about until its too late. Good stuff
Nathan I started using this when you posted before and I love it! So many transitions to get to it and most people don't see danger in it so it is usually open. Thank you for posting it again!
I have an old Chris Brennan dvd set that shows getting to that position from the mount and finishing with the kimura. It's one of my favorite subs. Now you guys just showed me more ways to get their and more options to finish. Thank you
Nice, big red has been doing a control position similar to this sans the kimura. I am going to put in some numbers with this. Geez so many techs I want to try lately.
Awesome Videos!
There is so much great stuff in there ,thanks .
Dammit, can't view the video at work. Doing a Kurzy and bookmarking
I just played with reverse spiderweb for the first time this weekend. Can't wait to study the videos!
They can try to step over but you have your legs to check it. Especially the back leg. It's actually a lot like the rubber guard control leg on the hip. If they try to step over you block them with that back leg, if they try to roll you can trap them or roll with them. We will cover this fun stuff in the 3rd video we are shooting now. Then it's Dead Orchard time :)
I've actually hit this position F*^&*^ up the "Hail Mary drills". Instead of doing a flying kimura with your rolling leg in between your opponents legs, roll on the outside leg, you end up right into reverse spider!
This is some really incredible stuff. I like the videos, too. The 2 man hosting team is a nice change up from the usual instructional.
Ever set this up from a failed Omoplata attempt? That's what I'm smelling. I know you were going from RSW to Jiu Claw, but do you ever go the other way? Seems like a really natural addition to what I already like in my own personal game.
Again, awesome.
Very nice.....gonna have to practice this one tomorrow.
