When your ear starts to hurt, the fluid is already building up. And most of the time it's not worth dealing with. I don't think making an impression every time my ear starts to get red and hot is realistic. (But then again, I am lazy!)
I personally don't care about the esthetics of cauliflower ear anymore, but I do drain the hematomas to relieve the pressure when I get a big one and it makes it hard to train. I had one last month that was huge and wouldn't stay down, I ended up having to get stitches in my ear.
Badge of honor in my opinion....those ears tell a long, beautiful story.
Let it grow
I read over the website and I think the idea is that you make one impression of your healthy ears, then you reuse that impression whenever it's needed in the future (before the fluid begins to build up).
Sounds like a cool idea if cauliflower ear is something that bothers you.
Caulli = LEGIT
broken toes = LEGIT
Cuts and busted lip/nose =LEGIT
:-D
That's all I'm saying. You take an elbow to the face, you got that caulli...you got my respect.
I got the worse case of cauli I've ever had right now, drained it like 10 times, gonna stitch it up after metamoris http://i111.photobucket.com/albums/n...psrfabstbk.jpg
That's a beaut. Mine started filling back up after it was stitched and it hurt worse that before I had it stitched. The fluid pulled on the stitches, and then started migrating. Just be prepared to drain it if fills with stitches. Originally Scott was using 23g needles, but then went to 29g (insulin needles) just get enough fluid out to relieve the pressure. I think he just liked poking me every night...GIGITTY.
Eddie when you were here we were talking about a kit like this that is why I posted.
This may work better than the clips you were using.
Last time I had it, the doctor cut a small slit in my ear and inserted a drainage tube. I had to keep the area packed with cotton to absorb the constant drainage & wear headgear for a couple weeks.
Too late for me. Save yourselves.
I would just like to point out one of my ego issues. Getting beat by a guy with perfect fucking ears. Man did I go about this shit the hard way.
