Maybe I'm just a white belt but I don't remember seeing someone keep a hook with their foot over the guys leg the whole time in half guard, until he explodes out to go to side control. Isn't that dangerous to get sweeped since you have less balance? Or is that more of an mma thing cuz u can distract them with punches?
It's actually a pretty common pass in the 10th Planet system, its a pressure pass. As long as you have the guys head and arm and keep alotta shoulder pressure it's pretty high percentage.
It's an actual pass in the system called the " no hands pass". very common.

Can you get reversed? I guess. If the bottom guy is super strong. I could be wrong, but most of your weight would be distributed onto the mat and the guy's head, not on the opponent's body. The way the weight is distributed, you'd have to put a lot of muscle into reversing. Plus, to even take him back the other way, I'm positive you'd have to open your half guard and that would make passing even easier.Quote:

I've done it before a bunch of times but never keeping my foot their for more than 2-3 seconds. I'm afraid of getting sweeped or "reversed". I guess it's not possibe with the right balance.
