Gym opening tomorrow and it's on the docket first thing
Always been my go to!
I hit it Fri night in practice, and then today was playing around with it again today. Great stuff!
Mejia went for one today at the IBJJF in the Open class!
Lock down game is my shit.
Halfway through class, one of the dudes went, "Coach, so... can you teach us the electric chair?"
:)
Pretty sure we'll get one of those questions (electric chair, vaporiser, 100%, lockdown) every day this week.
Of course, I've already got all that awesome stuff from MTS (1 of probably 2 guys from our gym who could recognise and name everything Eddie did against Royler), so I kinda wished our coach was just teaching us his armbars, locks and rolls instead (which admittedly work really well with the 10p system) :D
Gonna be drilling Electric Chair all week!!
we did lockdown last night at the school I go to
We had some new guys (which was awesome), so we did lockdown, jaws of life, whip up, electric chair. Ran out of time before we could go over stone control and vaporizer. I think almost everyone hit the electric chair when we were rolling...good to see new folks see that a technique works...Learn it...then employ it immediately
I have been hitting electric chair since I started Jiu Jitsu because it was one of the first moves I learned. I have high percentages with it as long as they don't stuff my whipup by hugging tight and posting their head.
So I am already really comfortable with it, however I what I did do was get into the Mastering the Rubber Guard book last night to go over my options from failed whipup, refreshing on Old School, etc.
I love the 10P basic path and the bottom halfguard game. It's definitely my go-to system if I have the opportunity to get it started.
I need to go over the vaporizer though. I couldn't find it in the first Mastering the Rubber guard or Twister books last night.
Edited to say I found the Vaporizer in Advanced Rubber Guard. After reviewing it an reflecting on the fight (especially the last few minutes), I find myself wondering if there is a Loco-Vaporizer or a Defcon-4-Vaporizer where Eddie could have put is heel against the planted leg and pushed away with it, or would the whole thing fall apart if he moved his leg there?
I love electric chair
We did lockdown to failed electric chair, head arm and leg then pass. Also, failed electric chair to stoner control to vaporizer. Very cool. :-)
I teach tkd and had to I keep talking myself down from drilling the lock down in each class yesterday.
We did yesterday and will be doing it all week i think! Electric chair and the vaporizer :)
