it would be high treason lol
What a great breakdown!! I never noticed the bone popping up til this guy points it out! Damn..
he said it best, "eddie bravo is the fuckin man"
I think maybe they might, to try to 'calm the waters'. Will see. Have they done Metamoris breakdowns before?
probably some classic : "it was all part of a greater strategy from uncle royler learned from grandmaster helio, that by the way is my grandfather, where he was just trying to wear him down, never been in any danger, ... bla bla bla"
classic!
That was an awesome breakdown :)
Thnx for sharing. Congrats to Eddie !
Is there a Schaub breakdown? lol
I love that lockdown lol
Another breakdown of the lockdown with the bottom guy putting it on wrong.
Holy Sh*t that looked nasty. (the first video)
I hadn't seen the focus on Royler's joint in slow-mow.
No way he was walking right the next day.
i love how it opens with the dude calling 10th planet nay sayers flat-earth society.
Great breakdown. Glad someone explained it so everyone can understand and/or appreciate it a bit more.
Actually, I think this is pretty spot on. The entire Helio philosophy of "You can't beat me." The onus was on Eddie to prove that the first match was not a fluke. All he had to do was enough to keep Eddie from getting him to tap. Personally, I think that was a bitch move. And a bitch move that almost backfired.
Yeah dude. If I recall correctly, Kimura never beat Helio because Helio didn't tap. LOL. And I guess Sakuraba never beat Royler with a kimura (coincidentally) because he never tapped. LOL.
Hey man, I wish them well and I'm super grateful for bringing BJJ to the world. But I'm not drinking the kool aid.
We were yelling break it the whole time. :-)
wont be surprised at all, Im expecting a Gracie breakdown. Its a big family (Gracies) with lots of very different members.
Eddie is the man - i'm proud to REP 10th Planet JJ aLL DAYYYY

Not a Gracie breakdown but probably as close as we will get. Ryron says he likes Eddie and would love to roll with him, says that they could probably both teach each other a lot. Never really gives Eddie full props but does say that he would only be able to judge Eddie's jiu jitsu by seeing him in every position.
That was a great breakdown. Eddie Bravo is the fucking man!
word is they filmed a breakdown today, which should be up soon-ish. We'll see how it goes.
Thats funny, even when i was writing that they would do a breakdown above, I was thinking "fucking Zogs gonna be right as usual"
3/4 of that video was an subtle advert for Combatives.
According to their example: the "Lockdown" is ineffective because Eddie didn't have head and arm control of Royler in the particular frame they showed. Royler is a multi-time world grappling champion - of course he was not going to just lay into the "Lockdown" like a fish. It wasn't a street fight and Royler isn't anywhere in the universe close to what type of assailant you would encounter. When fully on, the "Lockdown" is pretty damn tight and very uncomfortable - way more so than the basic closed guard.
Oh, and Eddie did sweep him 4 times from it as well.
Let's see how effective their own Combatives would be against Royler in the same fairness. How good would even a full on back mount be against Royler? All those techniques went through their "filter". But since the 10th Planet techniques aren't part of the Combative marketed program and not created by the Gracies - well they couldn't possibly be as good.
PR and damage control time. Wrap a 3 second compliment in a 20 minute criticism.
I was yelling "break-it!" myself Tori! Awesome fight! It had me wondering if the fact that the Gracie's have all trained since they were young boys if maybe they've developed some crazy double-jointed type shit. You know what I mean? I know they take pride in not tapping, so what does a life-time of that create in your body? I wonder.
