On my back is the last place I wanna be
exactly being on your back and triangles are way overrated =-)
standing wrist locks are the way to go
I will pull guard all the time in competitions, I am 6'3'' and 230, it just works for me that is.
Note he isnt saying bottom is where you WANT to be. He is saying for MMA, you better be good from the bottom, and reason he says it is, sooner or later, you are going to be on bottom.
i love the halfguard for me if someone gets in or gets stuck in my halfguard its bad iv been doing this oldskool /electchair thing
been tricking everyone with it
Thats just cause, admitedly, his wrestling sucks and he doesn't have many options of putting folks where he wants them. So he'll pull, sweep, then on top.
Most everyone would rather be on top if they had their druthers.
I know I would, EVEN THOUGH my guard is the best part of my game.
Go figure.
I'd rather be sort of on my side.
I prefer to be on my head
Native American guard is the new hotness... get on it and evolve.

the way i recieved it was that the technical aspects of jiu-jitsu can be seen from the bottom.
though for mma, top is definately the biggest want, definately better know how to fight off your back.
i've found it to be more true for me and guys my size when it comes to ground fighting. most peopel are larger than me and dont have much trouble putting me back over, so i've learned to kinda expand my options for jiu-jitsu from guard.
lol definately have to agree with Chronic_Jiujitsu, my stomach is the very last place i'd want to be anyday.
I might get a tattoo that says "Pull Guard."
I'm gonna butt scoot to my vaporizer now.
