Obviously this forum may not be the most most impartial but what do you all think?
I don't think it's unrealistic that Mayweather would connect at some point early in round one.
That would be the only really dangerous time in the whole fight, and he might clip her while she goes in for the clinch.
Or; She's simply shoot under his punches. Maybe even fake a lot of shots from a distance to make him lose his ability to react to them.
And kicking would probably be good, to take him out of his range. She can't kick for shit, but that doesn't matter, it would just be a tool to control distance.
Rhonda would circle away from him, make him come to her, and she would have a gameplan that involves a very high guard with head movement.
The rest would be a clean throw, total dominance on the ground, and a tapping Floyd, or a broken arm. And then another broken arm if he still hasn't given up.
70/30%, Rhonda wins! That's my opinion! :}
I agree except, what if she just crawls over to him? Then he has no opportunity to punch her?
1. Rhonda's standup is joke.
2. She's not a man= She's not as fast or as strong as Mayweather. Its NOT EVEN FUCKING CLOSE!!!
3. Rhonda does certain things incredibly great!!! But she is a very incomplete MMA fighter. The competition level in the womens divisions is very weak. It seems Dana wants it to stay that way too.
The only shot Rhonda would have is if it went to the ground.
Mayweather wins 85%/15%. IMO
**If we were talking about a male MMA champion. Mayweather losses 95%/5%. IMO**
Rousey 95%/5% -- I've been handled by upper level females before and I'm positive they could kick my ass, regardless of the fact that I have a penis. Ronda keeps her chin tucked hands up and dives in; she's taking his arm home.
Sorry Ross but your no Floyd Mayweather. Just sayin
Lol and you've obviously never grappled before ;) size, strength <<< technique. No grappling experience, no win. Especially if a) same weight class b) both champions.
Well that's funny because I've seen Blackbelt World Champion Jiu Jitsu guys get beat up in the cage . Its a fight. Technique is awesome but lets not be foolish to think superior strength doesn't mean anything in a real fight. Can she get him down. Maybe, we will never know.
You're right, it's a fight. But Ronda is the more complete fighter. Sure her boxing isn't anywhere near Mayweather's, but how often does he train kicks? Knees? What about checking leg kicks? What about his ability to avoid combat strikes? You can't just stand in front of someone and trade and slip. What about the combos? Sure her boxing is relatively horrible, but who says she's counting on her punches landing? What if she throws a 1 2 to set up a roundhouse, which is to set up a level change or a tie; and even if she's not successful on the first attempt, it's only a matter of time. There's way too much happening for him to know how to, not only defend, but also stay on the offensive, properly.
Final thought: all other things being equal, if I was a champion, and I got to pick my next fight, and my choices were a world champion grappler, a world champion kick boxer, and a world champion boxer, I'd pick the boxer.
There's always the chance it could happen. Pretty sure I read something about a mixed gender mma fight a while back.
Im not that great at grappling but when a 200lb+ new guy comes in, I can do basically anything I want to him. Im barely over 155.
Comparing men and women of the same size, men normally have about 40-50% more upper body strength and 20-30% more lower body strength. Combined average difference 30-40%.
Is a guy with 50lbs on me 30-40% stronger? I have no idea. I can curl 50lbs 1 time. So that would mean they would curl 65 to 70 lbs one time. That seems right but Im not a weight lifting guys so I dont know what a 200lb dude can normally curl 1 rep max.
Ummm, is Ronda going to fight a man? What is going on here? I am confused....
Ronda walks around at 150 and is strong as shit. IMO, Mayweather with no grappling or take down defense and he's swimming with a shark. It's a completely different game. Of course she's not as strong as a man, but I would put money on her in an mma fight.
I think Ronda said she could in an interview. Not completely sure about that...
Joe talked about this subject on the Tommy Toe Hold Show
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDJKLKkAOyk
Weird. I don't think that's very fair to Mayweather, for Rogan to speculate like that and now the internet is abuzz with people talking about it as if it were a possibility.
I feel like it kind of puts him in a spotlight he never asked for. I don;t know anything about him or his fighting, I am just saying it's weird how it's all being talked about now. (I googled it)
he was convicted of assaulting his ex-wife. He is paid insane money so imo he can console himself with some of those millions.
Im not sure joe was the one that brought it up he was asked on Sport Nation because a radio talk show host asked her recently. I think this is how it happened. Anyway seems like interesting (and yes pointless) topic.
ronda wins in mma, ronda gets raped in boxing. even mma with the small gloves, i dont think mayweather would knock her out before she gets her hands on him. If it was tyson vs. ronda, or someone with 1 hit ko power id say in both theyd win. But mayweather beats you up for a whole fight, he's not a KO artist.
She didn't exactly say she could. The interviewer asked her, then she said she'd do an army crawl over to him and jokingly described what she'd do.

It's just at the start.
And then the internet got angry.
if rhonda is kept at range floyd could get away with a win w/o knockout, he's super fast. he would have to unlearn the boxing clinch. and keep moving and at angles. would not be surprised if he was takendown he would be explosive in trying to get up, pure scramble freak out but it could work. ronda is probably stronger, judoka vs boxer no matter what gender the same weight, judodka is gonna be stronger, they use more of their body. rhonda can also probably take more damage than we seen she just hasnt caught an awesome asswhooping yet.so really imo its pretty even. no doubt rhonda would eat shots she never had before and floyd would be on his back at least once.
All fights start standing. Ronda eats a lot of punches on her way into the clinch. It's possible that MW connects and puts her out. But at the same time, he's more of a counter puncher. Combine that with having to worry about takedowns, I could see Ronda hitting a low single, climbing up to a clinch, ragdolling him to the ground, and tapping him like he's a 12 year old white belt.
In MMA, with more variables, and Ronda having experience dealing with those variables, I could see her winning 7/10 times. MMA favors her style over MW's. Even if MW learned to sprawl, he would still fall into the ground game which is Ronda's world. I just can't see MW keeping it on the feet long enough to score a KO or UD.
Styles make fights. Reem is stronger than most of the guys he fights and still gets KO'd due to poor defense. Ronda is not a complete MMA fighter, but she definitely has more tools than MW.
If Rhonda had a sick double or low single I would be completely confident in her. But Floyds jab, hand speed, and accuracy is in the category with the greatest of all time. Its an arguement with too many variables for anyone to be positive.
I hate Floyd, but his skill is undeniable. I'm not sure Rhonda could get a clinch before her face gets turned into hamburger. If she did though, it would be glorious.
LOL, this is total pointless but much funner than running the statistical analysis for my thesis project! You guys rock!
Everyone is ignoring the fact that the rules allow Rhonda to literally crawl around and not be struck in the head? Why wouldn't see use this strategy as she described in the video posted above? Did you guys see how fast she can wiggle across the mat when she was on TUF?
Ronda Rousey vs Mayweather = Randy Couture vs James Toney. I reckon the MMA fighter wins the MMA match at the top levels most of the time.
except, dare I say it, Ronda's judo is more devastating than Randy Couture's Greco Roman all else being equal and she's younger than he was for the Toney fight.
Mayweather is alot harder to get a hold of than people are giving him credit for dudes foot work is out of this world. He has the best clinch game in boxing dont believe me watch the Hatton or the Guererro fight. He rubs elbows on guys faces when their coming in to grab him in boxing imagine if he could throw those elbows.
When Floyd got rocked by Sugar Shane Floyd locked up Mosleys arm same way Fedor did to Fujita to recover.
Has Rousey ever shot for a double or single leg only way i see her winning is if Floyd ground and pounds her and gives up the arm.
Couture ankle picked Toney to take him down and hes a greco roman guy he didnt try to clinch cause he didnt want to get in punching range. Floyd utilizes alot more movement than Toney ever has.
It would be like Buttafuco vs Chyna but probably alot quicker finish.
Dont you think he should avoid the clinch at all cost? He may be the best at it in boxing but he doesn't have to worry about judo in the boxing ring? Im sure she has shot hundreds more takedowns than Mayweathers has defended.
If she tried the third option and pulled guard, I still think that's an excellent avenue for victory for her.
As to Mayweather being hard to hold, that's respectable, but I doubt his grappling standing can compare to an Olympian level Judo player like Rousey.
I'm a huge fan.
Third option, gotta hespect the philosophy of the master!
