So I was wondering if mts can be linked to roku, sort of a 10th planet channel. Would anyone else be interested in this? There are a lot of channels that have a subscription fee similar to that of mts, and I would assume it would give the 10th planet family a lot of exposure.

I tried this once. The source host of the videos blocks the stream I believe. Either way, never could get it to work.

Hey I don't hit the forum very often but B.J. told me about this thread. I use Twonky but, I don't know if its just my POS router, but it drops/resets the videos every few minutes. So last night I started a real Roku channel for 10th Planet MTS videos.
Right now all I have is the bare minimum setup just to see if it would work. And it does! So over the next couple weeks I'll get more episodes on there and customize the graphics. Only one episode available right now...

Don't tell anyone who is not subscribed to MTS, this is content that we all pay for so let's not give it away for free. Otherwise I'll password protect it and not tell anyone (so that I can continue to watch it myself lol)
David - I built a ROKU channel (it's private). But unless you have found a way to force login for those that are paying members I would venture to guess Eddie doesn't want you to give away what the rest of us pay for.
I have a Roku, gonna try the Twonky thing. How do you setup a Private Channel to watch MTS?

BUT it's pretty easy to set it up with a password and subscription access. I've done it for PeggyBank.com (but they don't run it any more). I don't know how access to the MTS videos is controlled (what software etc) but it might be possible to directly link access to MTS videos with access to the Roku channel. But if not there are other ways to control channel access based on subscription so the short answer is Yes I have figured out how to do that. But the channel code I posted earlier is not protected so I need to kill it.
It costs like $50/month to host the "channel" -not per user but total- and I only have a free account at InstantTVChannel.com right now, so I can't configure it to do that atm. But wait a basic $50/mo account I can setup a password protected channel. Go check out that site it's pretty cool really.
It can either be shared password - where everyone knows the same password; Or if you can add pages to this site, you can set the whole "enter this code at 10thPlanet.com" style Roku registration.

The wordpress controls access to the techniques. That's technically not accurate but for the sake of this discussion we'll leave it at that. So essentially if you could force the channel to require a valid access to the "techniques" section of this site that would serve as a buffer for those that don't pay and those that do. So far I have not been able to do that with either my tech guide, tech app, or the roku app. I'm not the webmaster here and this I don't have access to certain things. The webmaster is probably pretty busy and taking on new projects might just not be an option. You'd have to ask him. But yeah, there are some cool things we could do with the media but again, we can't post (publicly) links that will bypass the login system.
Umm, I just plug my laptop into a Largescreen plasma TV with an HDMI cable and watch it like that. Smart TV's should be able to stream from your phone too, shouldn't they?
Twonky is kindof spastic, maybe its my router but it drops the MTS feed every few minutes. The youTube app never does so I think it's something between whatver powers the MTS video feed and the Twonky app.
and yes laptop would work too but it just not as cool as having a 10th Planet TV channel!
I'm going to look into InstantTvChannel vs Wordpress. Maybe we get lucky there ;)

If "The Powers That Be" want to go forward with this, looks like it could be done kindo feasily - integrate the MTS subscription database with a Roku channel's password protection - I'l help if you want me to, I've setup a protected Roku channel before. I hope you do have time to work on it and I hope you think it's a good idea, because I would use it all the time.
