Gun Show Control: submission or control question

So I was messing around with Hindu control and gun show control before class today. 1) I'm definitely not flexible enough for Hindu control. 2) when I started playing with the gun show, I noticed that it's not very hard to choke them out with your forearm (the one being used for the control) if you take your free hand and just pull down on the head, pretty much a wind pipe choke and half blood choke.

What're your thoughts on this? Hopefully one of the gun show/Hindu control masters will get in on this :)

Youre definitely part of a small exclusive club. You Hindu controllers should probably get a membership id card and secret handshake or something

Nah man! Hindu and gun show are different. Gun show seems to require less flexibility than Hindu

Hindu control and gun show control are things I havnt dove into yet but I will soon

Whoops, I missed the part where you said you're not flexible enough for Hindu

If nothing else, just getting into Hindu control is a good measure of your flexibility, and is my next major flexibility goal.

I've been going to Gun show control and then using my fist to cut off the other side, kind of like a gag reflex. Or if that doesn't work I use the blade of my forearm and press it into their neck.

Sometimes there is a choke there if you are under his throat. Most of the time he will turn his head though and there won't be a choke. The main game is looking for the arm bar until you either get it or he gives enough resistance that you can just push his arm through for a pop triangle.

I def need to work the flexibility for Hindu but that Gun Show is legit right away. Pretty uncomfortable to be in (receiving the gun show control) and the Dead Orchard is super easy to set up.

Btw, it looks as though the leg behind the neck is a perfect structure to use as a means to do a nogi cross collar choke from gun show, which is good if they turn their head away, just like in datch gi.

Make sure you are really coming over top the knee with your elbow and sitting up into it before threading back around to put it in for the hindu control. The hindu control shouldn't test your flexibility too much if you're angling right. It does however seem to be a position guys with shorter limbs have a hard time with.

Yea, I feel the gun show is just a lot more control in that position compared to meathook or going dead orchard straight from mission control. Compared to mission control you have your right arm free and compared to meathook the guy is locked in place so he can't omo roll out or try and smash pass through.

I figured that out tonight as I was working it. It was all about hitting the right angle. I have pretty lanky arms so once I did it properly it thread right through. I still need to get reps on the Hindulotine though. Im not getting something right on the choke
