Need some help from the girls....especially the well-endowed ones! :)

Being well-endowed in your upper region can be a blessing, but when it comes to grappling it is a major curse. When I get rubber guard pulled on me, I get caught on the person's thigh as they move around and it pulls and twists and they get pulled and twisted when I'm in someone's side control. Most times I have to pause the match to adjust myself. I have been looking at some compression bras and tops, but I don't know what to get. I don't like purchasing something like that that I can't try on or don't know anything about. Do any of you girls have any suggestions of brands or other methods of support or anything else.

Well I don't have any PERSONAL experience in the matter, but I have been an avid runner for a while and female runners have similar problems (more from the bouncing, but still). All the girls I know that run wear really constricting sports bras. Seems to work well... I've seen some C and D cups look like A cups. If you check out a running store you can probably find a great selection.

My mum did karate for quite a few years and she actually had a reinforced plastic bra to protect agaisnt the knocks, like a cup for men. It might be worth looking into that.

I had thought about that, but I'm afraid of it hurting the person I'm rolling with and it being really uncomfortable for me with how tight all the positions are and with all the pressure. But if I hear from a girl that has grappled with one and said it was great I might check it out. Thanks!

My wife got the cup style one and she loves it. It does cause some discomfort sometimes with the person she is rolling with,but it is probably not comparible to your discomfort. I think we got it from title boxing

unsure of how effective it is when it comes to grappling but my girlfriend plays soccer and usualy wears a good firm fitting sports bra and an underarmor compression shirt for some extra "holdage?"

just a thought. i suppose in theory a tight but comfortable sports bra and compression shirt should get the job done, not as restricting as the 'armor' cup bra's but im sure catching an elbow in the breast wont feel nice either.

hope you find a good solution soon.

My ex used to strap hers. She wasnt a grappler, but had the well endowed problem and played sport.

Ignoring the horrors of trying to get the shit off, this is the best strapping tape you can buy. Slick, not sticky on the back and once you put it on, its there till you decide to take it off.

Heidi, google "sporteze zip-front minimal bounce bra". This may be just the ticket. My wife has one and it's like a uni-boob punching bag. It's designed for horseback riding, so it really holds 'em in. Hope this helps..

has she ever thought of reduction? if not for the grappleing aspect then for future back problems..and i dont mean just a sore neck...over size chests can lead to slipped disks and chronic lower back pain..

If your rolling with men, which i presume you are, it may make them feel more comfortable wearing a harder bra. For instance, i was personally rolling with a girl the other day( who happened to kick my ass but thats beside the point) and i was on top slightly postured up, i went to grab the collar but hesitated as i didn't want to accidentally grab a bit of boob as were. I ended up doing something else in the end. I think a harder bra gives a barrier so that if i did accidentally slip or what ever for a grip on the gi i would only be touching plastic which would make me feel less uncomfortable about it. But thats not your problem I guess, thats my own personal insecurities.

I tried a stretching ace bandage but it didn't stay on at all.

I'm not quite that big. I'm a 36D but I have an athletic frame so it supports it pretty well I think. I haven't had any physical problems that I can link to that. Thanks though. :)

I have thought about the guys discomfort about that too. And yeah there are no other girls in class. I want something that will basically flatten them for one so they don't get pulled and twisted and two so guys won't feel uncomfortable having their hands around that area.

Its the leucoplast tape in the blue and white roll. Not sure it you have it over there. I work in the bush in New Zealand. Its the one of the wettest nastiest places there is. That stuff will stay on for weeks. It says on till you remove it.

I think if I was going to use tape, it would need to be at least 6" wide for it to work properly and comfortably. The bandage I used once was only about 4" wide and it bunched up and was really hard to cover everywhere I needed it to. I think I am going to go with the Sporteze minimal bounce bra. That seems like it would be the best thing for me.

Some ladies at our dojo were wearing ones like these and they had pocket inserts (like on compression shorts with cup pocket) for the hard cups to protect your...um..lady stuff! :)
I think they call them "Jill's"
anyhoo....best of luck, my Mrs. Has some, she's 38 D or 36 D, but the cups tend to run small so be careful ordering the right size, may want to go up a size just in case.
