mint film, the guy's a prison legend over here in england. he's spent so much time exercising with no equipment he's now got enormous triceps, pretty big biceps and a beard that is biblical in scale
he's spent a lifetime in jail,and he hasn't even killed anyone,WTF:confused:
This movie is a piece of shit. There is zero character development, just a series of strange semi-entertaining nude fight scenes. Not at all true to Bronson's actual life. Comparing it to Clockwork Orange is a joke in my opinion.
I liked it. I actually watched it in successive order with "The Wild and Wonderful Whites of West Virginia" and a documentary on Bukowski. So I got to enjoy a thematic thread of anti-hero nihilism for the week. It's interesting how characters like Bronson, The White Family, and Bukowski all capture the imagination of the public due to their anti authority stance on life. In all cases, the anti-hero seems to become trapped within their own infamy, having to live up to their self destructive reputation no matter the cost.
ya i seen it and let me tell you that jail house fame is some real shit and some guys love it.
i also watched Jacobs ladder recently and that movie was a bit fucked but still a good watch.
This movie was epic.
Yea, since saying it doesn't remotely compare to Clockwork Orange, makes me sound like I like transformers..
The movie is shit, and I really like Tom Hardy too. Read reviews and discussions on other forums. There was one on the RB where 95% of the people thought it was ABSOLUTE crap, and it has an average of 6.6 between imdb and rotten tomatoes. This place is just a group think pit.
Sorry for dropping some truths on you fools.
Bronson was in the news yesterday as it happens. He injured 4 screws after stripping and applying butter all over himself. It took 12 to overpower him. He is now in solitary confinement. -:)
a band named after him!

I would hardly consider a subjective assessment of a film to be "truths". I'm not going to pretend that there was more to Bronson than what it was, an overly stylized work of pretentious fan fiction. However, I was thoroughly entertained by it even if it was only for the performance of Tom Hardy and the joy of the film's aesthetic.
It's not like I'm going to reverse engineer dislike for the film after the fact and try to erase the fun I had during the film. What would be the point of that? So I could be in line with the opinions of Rotten Tomatoes and the Rogan Board?
Thanks for the truth dropping, your opinion has greatly affected everyone on the thread. It is obvious you are an authority on the matter from your extensive research on forum threads. Keep up the good work.
I personally loved the movie, everything about it was awesome from beginning to end. I don't think it was at all like Clockwork but the acting was phenomenal and the only way the acting can shine is if the script, editing and cinematography is bitchin also.
The only reason I compared it to Clockwork is because it compared itself to Clockwork, which was why I rented it. I was providing a different perspective because clearly not everyone thought this was movie was great.. It was somewhat entertaining, because it was Tom hardy, ripped fighting people. But the movie itself was really not good, especially after comparing itself to quality Kubrick.
And no, I'm not talking about falling in line with opinions on the Rogan Board.. I'm saying my opinion isn't flying out of left field. It's valid and shared by quite a few posters on a very similar board, by people with similar interests, and by the two largest movie review sites on the web.
All you guys have is your opinions too. I'm sorry that mine is different about this movie. This movie portrayed a man with a very cool story, very untruthfully, and not very well compared to what they could have done. That's my opinion, watch the movie and decide for yourself. BPPT - I respect you as a poster on both boards. I'm not trying to be dick.
It got 75% fresh on rotten tomatoes. I thought it was really good.
