Anybody else seen this? It seems like something right up Eddie's alley. Also how badass is Keenan?

That first one is the step back position we use that is killing our quarter guard game (mentioned in another thread). We dont trap the foot like keenan does (I like this option if i want the knee bar though). We drag the top leg across (instead of hooking) and look for iron cross, heal hook, x-heal hook (worst one of all), toe hold, knee bar, short ankle lock or calf crush. This position is super super powerful and very difficult to get out of.
The thing that is different about this technique is that your opponent needs to be playing traditional outside half for it to work. We don't see a lot of traditional half around anymore do you guys?
it's always cool to see high level guys reaffirming that what I'm doing isn't bad. When I get to russian cowboy, I don't split the legs and go to my side in one motion. I split the legs, scoop the other leg up by the toes and shove it under my kneepit to control what I call the kicking leg. I like his entries a lot better than how I do it because they control the kicking leg well ahead of time. I'm def adding this to my game.
Very nice stuff indeed that is.
Looks like a very tight control if u can get the foot tied before he deffends
Hit this 2x tonight will be putting MAD REPS in on this one
Did he just say, "Nipping that in the butt." ?
And i don't think he knows what the word "fulcrum" means.
Not that it matters, dude still destroys worlds.
AJ, I thought you were dead. Welcome home.
I just have too much BJJ homework to catch up on. New gym, new curriculum... tons of shit that i sucked at that i have to focus on. Oh yeah, and I was split in two like a wishbone so I had to abandon my rubber guard and omoplata games.
He doesn't finish any but watch Keenan's kneebar setups on this video. Does anyone know what type of guard/grip he's using when he weaves his hands through? He's setting it up so that he can easily invert through to the back or get the kneebar, but Rafa is good at countering with the darce or getting to the leg weave/smash pass. Still this looks like a sick spot to launch kneebars from, which I suck at.

Between this and watching Jeff Glover at EBI I really want to work on my kneebars. Anyone have any good videos or tips, besides the Keenan video in the first post? Kneebars are my worst leglock by far. I'm okay with heel hooks and straight footlocks, but suck at toe holds and kneebars. I never get deep enough and people always spin out and I either get my back taken or end up in 50/50.
I think it's because I don't know how to really enter the kneebar without "jumping" on it so unlike heel hooks or straight ankles, I don't really have a secure position before I try to submission. Plus since I broke my ribs I don't invert as confidently unless I have a strong delariva or spiral hook so I worry that when I spin under for the kneebar that I'm gonna get crushed.
Hit this today. Well sort of. I one arm kneebarred while holding the other foot cuz I couldn't get it behind me knee. Still worked like a friggin charm. That entry is stupid easy. And as usual, controlling the toes magically controls the whole leg.
