It's going to be a great night of fights but of course I'll be supporting the fellow Irish man. Any predictions for the fights at UFC 178? Which fight is everyone looking forward to most?

McGregor by destruction! Big Cerrone fan too.
It'll be good to see Cerrone adding another 50 g's and another head to his collection. Also looking forward to seeing Dominick Cruz back in action.
Oh for sure. Id love to see Cruz and Dillashaw.
I didn't know this was this coming weekend. I just checked this card and it's seriously stacked. I might just pay for this one and have people over. I mean, every single fight has a high potential to either be a barn burner, a technical masterpiece, or a highlight finish.
Very cool to watch Connor training TKD for this fight.
McGregor will be exploring anything and everything to add to his arsenal. He already made an appearance at HQ a few weeks back, who knows what could happen in the future.
I cant wait for the post weigh in stare down...thats going to be fuckin intense!!
Looking forward to Mcgregor/Poierer. Im a big McGregor nut hugger.
oooo and Cruz. This is a good card
He's not exaggerating about the pressure he brings. Brutal and relentless. I love him
I wanna see him against Nate or Cerrone.
Poirier is gonna rape this fool. The Diamond is so much better than people think. McGregor is gonna get exposed for the fraud he is. War Poirier
Poirier is good for sure. This is a big test for McGregor. I think Conor gets into Poirier's head and wins this before they even step in the cage.
Lol well he did hold both the 155 and 145 Cage Rage belts at the same time.
Cage Warriors.
Poirier is a beast but I find it hard to believe he can deal with McGregors smooth in and out style, after the trouble he had dealing with Korean Zombies famous Zombie dash. (even though Zombie and McGregor are 2 completely different fighters)
Same thing jeez!
My picks are Zingano (TKO), Kennedy (Sub), McGregor (by TKO), Cerrone (by 50,000 headkick), Johnson (by decision).
This card is gonna be sweeeet.
Anyone else count 2 for sure and arguably 3 illegal head strikes in a row by Connor on Porier?
I think that's a bit harsh. It's tough when the opponent has their face on the floor and he adjusted to the other side when Poirier turned. Tough situation when you're desperately looking for the finish and the opponent is face down and turning a little. Great fight either way.
Thats why I say 2. Maybe 3. The first one was very similar to GSP vs Serra and Couture vs Lesnar. They obviously were throwing hooks in every incident and just caught back of head on the level change. It is back of head but that wasnt their intention in all 3 examples.
In the 2 following striked however, where Porier was on the ground there was no way he was throwing legal strikes (imo) so at least 2 of them i thought were a bit dirty.

I watched it a few times, there seemed to be only 1 hit to the back of the had after Poirier had fallen and then McGregor made the effort to attack the side afterwards. This stuff happens but I wouldn't blame the loss on a hit to the back of the head. McGregor came out there looking sharper than ever and did what he said, made him back off after the first exchange.
I count zero illegal shots. The only one that would be illegal missed. The hammer fist hit the other side of the head, not the back. The one that stunned Poirier landed just behind the ear, whig is a legal shot. It was a clean victory. I'm officially on the war wagon. He proved himself last night.
I agree. The one that looked the closest seemed to land towards the top of the head. I imagine its hard to hit a moving target and he obviously adjusts to hit him where he's suppose to.
I love how he was talking shit through out the fight. I want to know what he was saying exactly. You could tell McGregor was in Dustin's head from the "Embedded" videos the UFC put out on the lead up to fight day. He tried to cover it up by acting tough but I could tell there was some worry there.
People are realizing the hype is backed up. He's a hard working guy, I've heard is an absolute gent in person. I believe he'll take Aldo.
Would like to see McGregor and Cub for a number #1 contender then the winner gets Chad mini Mendes for the championship (yes I think Mendes beats Aldo in October)
Frankie Edgar would kill him. Frankie creates too many angles that Conor wouldn't be able to deal with
I like Frankie but don't know about that. Frankie would have to figure out a way to get inside that reach
All four of his possible matches are extremely exciting, probably the most excited I will have been for a matchup in a very long time or ever. I would love to see him vs edgar though. I'm really interested to see how his standup matches with edgars.
