before i click play, on a level of 1 to Kevin Ware (Louisville basketball), what's the nastiness factor?
freakin 10, sorry to hear Bmac, does that mean your out of Great Lakes training camp??
64
When it happens for real it sucks. Acute Proximal Tibio-Fibular Subluxation is what it is called. 6-8 weeks recovery if you are lucky.
Is this a joke? Do you have someone making the noise? Am I retarded?
(Don't answer the last
You gave me a heart attack man. Haha.
I dont' know what you heard about his roll, but Bmac's a knee snappin t t t t troll.
Way to give me a heart attack.....
Right after the snap I'm like "FUCK RUBBER GUARD IT'S NOT WORTH IT" oh okay, nevermind
I knew it was fake the moment I laid eyes on it.
God I keep hearing that sound now when watching jits videos. Thanks for that.
It did make me nauseous, actually. But then, I was watching when Einstein snapped his tibia and fibula during wrestling practice. It made a similar sound, only louder and slightly deeper in tone. I'm not exaggerating. I had dreams about it and was hyperaware of my legs during practice for half a year afterwards.
I am actually recovering from this right now. Week 6 in a leg brace now, 2 to go hoping the ligament heals and tightens so it doesn't become chronic or require surgery. Mine popped while I was doing the Zombie, opponent on top did a quick move of pulling right arm back, like a back stroke and fell forward with leg shoulder at the same time. Knee went pop, skin stretched, felt sick to my stomach but didn't hurt much until about 4 hours later, then the next was like this is not good. Looking back, I probably should have abandoned my Zombie attempt and went another route against this much resistance. In MMA this would not be an issue because I could strike to get the hand to the mat instead. Is this movement possibly a way to block progress of someone's Mission Control ie backstroke with arm that is on knee side and shoulder drive into the forearm that holding the leg high creating enough force to pop the knee. I am not advocating popping knees but it appears to be there. Maybe I have too much time thinking about it and replaying it, just can't wait to get back on the mat. Any feedback so I don't do this again would be great.
I still haven't clicked play... and I don't think I'm going to.
Well, now I feel like a real jerk.
Sorry to hear about your injury, man.
Usually if something gets stressed or injured from a position it's because you are pulling or pushing something that isn't meant to be pulled or pushed.
Most people put their focus into pulling the foot. This is a lever to the knee and forces it to bend in an unatural direction. Put your focus instead into pulling on your knee, which is a lever to your hip. The hip is designed to rotate and has muscle to stretch in this exact position.
Also, more on aide to create more angle and your flexibility becomes less and less of an issue.
Damn, man, u had me going there for a second. I am glad this is not real.
No worries, I did it to myself as you say by pulling on my leg too hard at a bad angle. I actually have really good flexibility which allowed my body to go too far. Angles play a huge role for sure, I learned the hard way exactly how far my leg will go lol. I can now confirm that you don't feel anything wrong until you have gone past the point of no return. The biggest reminder lesson this has been to me is to not force what I want to do but take what given to me.
Ha! I felt that stressed out feeling in my chest when I heard that. Got me good!
This would be much funnier if I wasn't sitting on the couch recovering from my knee popping in comp 3 weeks ago... no jitsu for 3 weeks and my heart is deeply saddened by all of this. I miss the rolls. Wasnt in RG, actually happened defending an armbar. Still I was cringing watching the video even though I knew it was fake. Brought back painful memories.
and here i am out of training for 3 months already with a torn acl...(not rubber guard related, more like a freak accident. i posted about it)
that sound man! you are a sick person, you know that, right?
http://youtu.be/wgH8qwsNkpI
Fits the last name almost perfectly lol.
"You're a sick motherfucka mac!"
Hahahaha, way to go, Bmac. You have succeeded in unifying all the 10P cripples with this thread.
is not funny :(, pain
I have 4 surgeries on my right knee, so yall don't get the torches out just yet, fellas.
So got me.
Brilliant. Most douchiest thing you could've done but brilliant. Also, what did you use to make the noise? + Please don't give anymore heart attacks to me like that again.
This is not a test. Repeat. Not a test.
HUG THA DAMN KNEE!!!
That is all..
A bunch of people think the security footage is faked because of this video. ha ha
What do you suggest to protect your knee while doing the Zombie in Mission Control. Once I am healed and rolling, my plan is to be ready to bail on the Zombie and go to Mission Pump, Full Guard or Meat Hook, maybe the Pedro if the guy tries to explode out of my Mission Control while I am fighting for the Zombie Move. When my knee popped the guy tried to explode out and kind of lost his balance and drove forward in a twisting motion creating the exact lever necessary on my knee for it to pop. It was a freak thing, but I want to have a plan when I am in a similar situation in the future.
I've tore my knee twice...so...not funny. Actually...yeah, it was.
