Jumping guard in mma? Well that's just silly..
I wasn't really surprised. He's super confident in his guard. Im betting he pulled as soon as he got the overhook.
Damn! Jumped guard!? What a beast!
Jumping guard and attacking the arm won't work as easily with high level fighters...
Can't remember the last time, in fact, I can't remember seeing anyone EVER pull guard in an MMA fight ....!
Footage from Kron's debut - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er7zcLiTZ8w
Beautiful. Lock the shoulder. Lock the elbow. Done.
I got such a crush on Kron. It's disturbing, really.
i love how he reacted, like he didn't care. badass
damn... that was some beautiful jiu jitsu
Haven't seen that front stomp kick since Royce either - what's the thinking behind it?
Classic. Nothing says Jiu Jitsu like armbar from closed guard.
He got hit damn near every time tho. Head movement could help a tad. If the best land like that.. Oh well, jj won :)
What's the idea - hit the knee to deter them from closing?
Its called the Gracie Stomp, its pretty old school. The idea is that you throw a kick at your opponents knees a couple of times, then the next time you throw it your opponent will lower his hands to stop the stomp. If your opponents hands are down, he cannot punch and it allows you to close the distance and clinch without getting punched. It is mainly for an untrained opponent, haven't seen it in a while. Heres a Judo Chop breakdown of it

Was the 3rd option his first or second option?
2nd.
Rickson said in his latest interview that Kron isn't training other arts. Does he honestly believe he can be successful in MMA using only Gracie Jiu-Jitsu ? MMA is not Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, its a different sport. You need other skills too !
His guard pull is similar to a wrestlers when setting up takedowns with strikes. Albeit, with the Gracie stomp..concept is the same though. Needs to take more angles with footwork in my opinon. Krons still a total bad ass. Wish more Jiu Jitsu practitioners were confident enough in their guard to do this in MMA.
It WAS a 0-0 opponent so we have no reference point. However, it was a good move executed beautifully, nonetheless.
