Hi every one, I was looking through the technique lists, but I wasn't sure where to find any Side Control transitions to Spider Web or Spinning Armbar finishes (only random videos on YouTube).
Is there a specific way our 10th Planet association attacks the arm through a Spider Web transition from Side Control?

I still set it up with knee on belly and a deep under hook - old school but does the trick
Apygav - Yeah, I feel like its such a old school move that I wouldn't find it here. Haha or I guess its just a thing that white belts like me have to pick up before moving onto blue - such a basic move that wouldn't really be mentioned to any greater detail than found in beginner classes.
it is old school but its still good to have in your bag - if people defend the knee on belly buy pushing it away its yours all day, its a good reaction to have ready for when they do plus its only basic until you hit spider web then you will have a whole world of techniques to play with :)
I checked out this Youtube video a little while back and have started catching this. Very very slick if you can get atune to scooping their elbow and getting your hips under it. The whole principle of armbars from side control, I've found, is just figuring out ways to get your hips under their elbows. This is just one example of a very powerful principle. Even if this video doesn't help you, hopefully intuition can kick in and you can figure out ways to get from A to B to C. Best of luck

The thing about armbars from side is you end in half web, or with no leg control at all. They are very effective, but fall in the category of a 'flash' submission. Meaning you have to continue the transition all the way through the sub. As opposed to a deadzone. Spiderweb is a position in itself where you can methodically break down his defenses.
If he connects his hands in half web, I usually transition, because there is a high probability of him escaping. This is on good opponents. He should be able to free his elbow in the transition from half to full web. If not, he lacks awareness and mobility.
Side note, I love flash subs.
I have two favorites, one the same one that Apygav was talking about from knee on the belly, steal the underhook, and hit the armbar.My other is, I think Master Bravo showed it in one of the MTS, its the armbar off the Kimura from side control.That is probably actually my favorite to get to spiderweb from side control.

I've found that an effective escape from half web is if a guy does a backward somersault (or similarly, a hitchhiker escape). Gi pants can be used to hold the guys pants in place. No-gi would be grabbing the knee. But I agree that you'd be wise to work to full web as quick as possible, since, although you can finish from half-web, you'd better turn it on 100% to get the tap (pinch the knees, scoot the hips in, thumb towards the ceiling, all that jazz). As a side note: I spent the 1st couple years of training living religiously on that Gracie University site (watching every damn video they got) and they had an hour long video breaking down side control armbars then another one breaking down the defenses. I've since kinda gone away from that site and transplanted myself here, given this site is more in tune with evolution and the art as a whole rather than strictly the old-school approach, but a lot of the stuff I learned keeps working, since they're more awareness checks than anything.

It wasn't an Mts, I thought it was but it was tech.vid by Nathan Orchard.It was an entry into reverse spider web but instead of going into reverse I hit the spider weweb.You just basically get into regular side control, establish the kimura Grip, shift your hips from regular to judo side, step over his head, roll your opponent up for a kimura most likely your opponent will grab his shorts, push your weight on him so he won't roll, switch your kimura grip to a deep hook, swing your leg over and around his legs and bam!!!!Your in spiderweb.
I love Orchards reverse spider web from side. I prefer it to half web transitions.

bobby is right about the half web position. most of your attacks will land you there. there are some solid ways to finish from there, but full spiderweb is the way to go. i tend to look for more chokes from side.
