Saw that on FB, pretty crazy.
Pretty wild!
Reminds me of the bottom half guard guillotine defense/counter that you teach Eddie!
Is that the Steve Vice?
Crazy...
I actually used to do a variation of this as a white belt.
I'd keep the arm from the peak out drop my weight to the ground and take that shoulder lock.
I called it the buzz saw... I don't know why.
I may have had a set for it from lockdown but it's been so long.
Peeps got hip to it and it didn't last long but I might have to go back to it now I have more experience under my belt.
Submission...which might not have an official name yet....hmm.... well if it doesn't have a name yet officially I cast in my ballot to name it "ZF" short for Zero Fux *that ones for you Josh P.*
Yeah I do something similar as a half guard counter to a guillotine but thats nuts though in saying that it looks like the guy could ahve forward rolled out of it for ages at the start. cool sweep/submission though. and I think there is a concept there a boundry of human flexibility that should be exploited.
If this is a high percentage sub it totally changes the game cuz we are all taught that you can't sub while mounted. This throws a wrench in the system.
lol a girl in jits literally tries that on me and gets close sometimes
Actually, here where i train its normal when someone try to pull a gilhoutine we stiff our neck hold the wrist and try this "Kimura", we do not lock how he did but we use pretty much the basic way. But i have never seen someone doing on mma, really inovator the way he lock it
What's crazy is he used the cage to step off and get the leverage. It looked like he was mounted but amazing that there's probably a whole world of undiscovered subs from the back that use the cage.
What's crazy is the guy on top not sliding to side control or rolling out of the mount. I get that once the bottom guy had wrist control and trapped the leg against the cage it was fucksville, but come on dude, there was plenty of warning and ample opportunity to get the fuck out of there.
dang, the steve vice is legit.
The Steve Vice is the only submission I believe in anymore.
All hail, killersteve.
killersteve.....please make an instructional immediately!
there is a video out there of a gi match where javier vazquez got hurt while he had the guy mounted and they ended the match but in the video you can't see what happened. I think its not all that uncommon in the gi but that's definitely the first time i've seen a submission while mounted in nogi or a fight.
I do a version of that from lockdown when my opponent tries to guillotine me.
I hit this twice in class last night, thank you Killer Steve!!!
