I will never underestimate an Irishman with a wicked red bear ever again. Nor someone from Atos. It was great to see contrasting styles - scrambles and leg attacks vs pressure and position advancement - in the early rounds. I had no idea you could finish an RNC with an opponent's hand inside. Time to have a talk with my training partners that I saw this in EBI 3 and am going to try to finish and that I'm not trying to be a dick... lol

I've seen Garry on facebook talking about how if you try to defend the choke with your face, he will squeeze your face and not feel bad about it.
Lil' Grace Gundrum was spectacular. So calm in the face of danger early on, and devastating later on. Disappointed Cora Sek didn't win (I'm a huge fan), but I'm sure she'll be back and even better for future EBIs. Can't wait for the next one!!
Grace's face once she got out of the guard and started butt scooting at that girl was priceless! So calm while in danger and focused when attacking. Jacob and Cora showed incredible skills in their matches as well. Both showed solid defense and transitions. I was seriously jealous of the skills that all six of those competitors showed.
Super impressed with all the kids matches. The kid that Jacob faced is a beast. Props to everyone
Hopefully the can lure a marquee name for Geo: Cobrinha, a Mendes, a Caio, etc. I've only recently (past year) began looking at the leg-lock game. Looks extremely risky. I need a lot of coaching in that arena, but it's fun to watch people good at it.
Anybody know how much $$ Gary won?? Does he get the full $10k or nothing because it was OT??? P.S. the kids were amazing!!

I watched with a bunch of my students (who only do grappling) and a few other guys who are way more into fighting MMA than they are into grappling. Even the MMA guys really liked it.
EBI is definitely making big strides toward turning grappling into a spectator sport.
I'm surprised that Darragh was so slept on. He was the only guy on the whole card that had a submission win over Tonon (guillotine at the BJJ Kumite). His game is a problem for anyone. He's a big student of Marcelo Garcia's website, and probably the best example of someone that has used that site to its full potential, and he's said he's learned almost as much from Marcelo as anyone else. His north south choke is disgusting, and as soon as he started going for Boogey's arm I knew it was a setup for him to fall back on the choke. He got Sean Roberts with that at the Kumite, he got another guy with that recently at the Nogi Europeans.
Darragh's cross knee series to the guillotine/darce/far side armbar is so refined. Once he's past he's so good at getting the north south choke or the back. I was surprised that he didn't get put out by Boogey's JNT and darce series, because all 4 or 5 of those looked very tight, but I guess Darragh had just enough space.
I really enjoyed the Tonon/Cummings match.

By far liked the teens matches better. They were so impressive and I feel like they think outside the box better than adults. Adults was great, but I'd like to see a top teens division. How about a guys bracket and girls then the champ from both go against each other ? Lol.

No watched the feed. On the feed Jacob never showed up:(. Demian is doing BFA in Texas but it's gi. Hopefully Jacob will have another shot at him before the next BFA nogi. BFA isn't my favorite event in the world but it's semi sub only. Point for sub attacks in OT :-/ even if you attempt a keylock from inside someone's guard. P.S. the two 14 years old boys... probably my favourite match. I was skeptical when I heard Eddie was bringing kids to the EBI, but mannnnnnn I'm glad he opened my eyes to the level of children out there.
