Belt brand recommendations

I train both gi and no gi and was recently promoted to blue belt.

Does anyone who trains in the gi have any recommendations for belts that don't come undone all the time? Does such a thing exist? Would a softer, thinner one be better?

Also, do you have a favourite belt based on design and aesthetic? Looks matter too =)

Datsusara makes a good belt and it is 100% hemp, which is antimicrobial and antifungal etc.

Congratulations on the promotion! I was given an otm belt when I was promoted and it never stayed tied so I bought one from DFKC (Da Firma Kimono Company) and it never comes undone. My blue belt was from Vulkan and it was really nice too but it's a lighter blue and I prefer the more vibrant colors that DFKC has.

Scramble belts are very good and look ok too!!!

A good value belt that is also pretty decent are the ones from bjjglobetrotters.

Plus if you're really that bothered about it coming undone then try using a different knot.

I bought X-Guard brand and it comes off all the time. I decided not to buy another blue belt and just ride this out til purple but can't say I'd recommend it for the purposes that you're inquiring. It's really thick and often gets mistaken for a purple belt with it's hue. Not that that's supposed to be a bad thing necessarily, but I was annoyed when it looked blue on the internet but had a different shade in person.

Congrats!!! I have macaco branco. More you use it, better it fits.

I want to get a blue Scramble belt in A2 but can't find one anywhere.

Thanks to you guys for the congratulations and the info! It's nice to have an excuse to buy something new but I'm sick of having to tie my belt during the warm ups!

I'll check out the suggestions.

Congrats man. My Hayabusa belt stays pretty tight. It's thick but very flexible and soft

The 'super lock' as Rener calls it in that vid never comes undone regardless of belt in my experience. You then have the hassle though of your Gi coming out and having to try to tuck it back in which in it's self sucks if your sparring and rolling a lot of different peeps.

Flow hemp is the best. You have to break it in but it's very nice.
