Anyone else think Nicki Minaj is the shit?

She released her first hiphop album 2 weeks ago and the whole album is EPIC! By far the best female hiphop artist I've heard recently, maybe ever! The song Roman's Revenge with Eminem is amazing, and her song I'm The Best is equally as awesome!

She's been used on some big tracks with big rappers in the past few years but I had no idea who she was until yesterday and I'm already obsessed. If you're a hiphop fan, and you havn't checked out her new album yet, its called Pink Friday, and as you can see I strongly recommend it.

Oh yea, and shes fucking nuts too, multiple personalities, different personalities featured on different tracks lol.

Shes awsome, I have always liked her and i havent picked up the CD but i have no doubt its great, im really liking the battle between her and lil kim lmao, lil kim is hatin hard when she should be respecting Nicki's style

I think she IS shit. Gone are the days of hip hop artists talking about the human condition and spirit. I'll stick with the ones still doing their damndest, like Mos Def and Aesop Rock, if it's all the same. I've heard Roman's Revenge, and I'll admit Em sounds good on the album, but she really didn't do it for me. But, it could be worse, she could be Lil' Wayne.

lol everyone has different views and opinions I liek all types of music. as far as hip hop "drake" and "lil wayne" are two of my solid favorites. Then again this is my opnion, i always lliked lil kim and she seem to fade away, now nicki is doing her thing and shes getting up there on my list as well

I tried like hell to hate her...I really did. I like her...like drake she sounds good to my ears. Her lyrics are silly and her flows inconsistent. However, she is smart and extremely talented. Like a Drake, lil wayne and for the most part Jay-Z she gives lyrical junk food for the suburbs...the hip pop crowd and that's ok. The goal is to sell records and those with the unbelievable flows, with the exception of very few, don't sell or get the production.

I will probably pick up her album when it goes on sale. That song with Em is the shit! I don't know...I am 40 so all music is shit to me now. I grew up on P-Funk, the Ohio Players, Prince, MJ, Bowie, Run DMC, Elton John...you compare that with britney spears, 303 and Usher? Hell..these guys don't even play real instruments anymore.

I'll be honest with you, I don't know of any, but I don't listen to much rap by women. I feel men's voices carry more powerfully in that genre, which may be just my personal preference. I'm sure there are great ones out there, but I couldn't really tell you.

I guess im one of these so called "haters" its not so much that I hate her, Rap and all music in general has been really bad for about the last 10 years. Once in awhile a great artist will come a long but its been years since we have had some new truly great musical artists in any genre of music.

What happend that music doesnt have to be an expression of emotion anymore. Used to be the more you pour your hear and soul into your music the better it was. Now a days if you got a catchy hook and a good gimic you'll have a gold record.

For me it's more about what sounds good, and what I enjoy listening to. Particularly in the rap/hiphop genre, yea the lyrics are important, but for me that's just to the extent that they are clever/witty/funny/catchy. Rap/hiphop being an expression of emotion is all good if it is for real, but I've gotten sick of the cookie cutter artists, and I listened to the Pink Friday CD and enjoyed pretty much every song. That to me is a winner and a star, and it's something that I haven't found from any other females in the industry. I guess I have a somewhat shallow taste in music, but if it sounds good and I enjoy listening to it, that's all I'm looking for.

Nicki Minaj is ok but I don't agree that she is the best currently female or ever close the being the best female rapper of all time. I also don't care much for Lil Wayne or Drake. I think Young Money is where you go if you have no talent but still want to be in the game. Nikki Minaj is by far the best rapper out of the 3 that I named.

I disagree, the radio just stopped playing real hip hop. The Radio went to playing Hip Pop. Real rap went underground. There are lots of great artists that are currently underground. There are some good fairly mainstream artists such as Eminem, T.I., Ludacris, Papoose, Cassidy, Jadakiss, Young Jeezy, ect. But for the most part, the great artists are mostly underground. If you're interested, I'll send you a list of people to look into.

I currently own an ipod & since I got that, I stopped listening to the radio 100%. All I listen to now is my ipod with all my CD's imported onto it.

I also forgot to mention Lupe Fiasco. He a great artist that is fairly mainstream. If not mainstream, he is fairly well known & he is fairly new to the game.

Let's not forget left eye.. I would probably kill Nicki myself if it meant getting her back. Not that i hate Nicki.. i think shes really good for a female rapper.. but left eye was pretty genius.
