Does anyone know what the strength training method Scottie had Iceman doing in the "All about Einstein" MTS episode? I was really interested in it, and if I could find out what it was I wanted to try to incorporate it into my gym routine

Kegels?
Einstein trains at a place called myogenics. Its based on the super slow workout and the routine he put Chuck through is his modified version of it. I don't know what its officially called, but I've done it and like to refer to it as pure pain ;)
Thanks alot Dawna. Would it be possible to get in touch with Ein, and maybe get him to give us a post or tiny sample of what that routine might be like?
bump
i thought that kind of workout was for gaining just muscle size? school me if im wrong
I'm sure it probably does wonders for functional strength. I'm not really sure, I'll have to give MYOGENICS a google.
I'll pass on the request :)
Thanks Dawna, we appreciate it :)
well its diffirent...
i just call it static strength training. Chuck was doing all static no movement. this is what caused all is muscle and strength gains not to mention brought his level of conditioning to level greater then he ever had. These are his worlds not my opinion. By eliminating momentum and force we never get hurt and work to our full potential causing greater gains on all levels. also this is to be done once every 5 to 7 days with no other strength work . less is better. Rest is when things happen .
Einstein, are you going to fight MMA anymore?
Are you still linked in the fight game down there, as far as being able to get people fights and what not?
THanks
wow, that's some intensive workout!
I might have to try this. My shake weight just isn't cutting it : )
The video makes it look like all your doing is applying all your energy and force to an area where your met with no resistance. Almost like pushing on a wall? It's not going anywhere, but your still pushing on it with all of your might in HOPES that you might be able to move it. Is that what the training is supposed to be like?
not trying to be a jerk but i just dont see this type of training being good for a MMA figter...if you condition your body for no momentum what does your body do whhen your in a real fight..chuck needs to do some polymetrics
Nate your on the right track. Michael your not being a jerk that's my job. but your assumptions and trumped by my education and experience,i have been an exercise specialist for over 15 years. btw chuck has done everything else and there is a reason why my system worked best on all levels . science wins. ill tell chuck to give you a call to show him some plyometrics . Im sure he never tried it before and it must do wonders for joints .
Einstein, what do you have Chuck doing for his aerobic/anaerobic conditioning ?
It looks like the program Tony Robbins was promoting a couple years ago. Static contraction I think he called it. I've seen Chuck as a guest speaker at TR seminars before. Was he exposed to it there or did it come from you Scott? This is the first I've seen it being used.
No I think he's saying if strength and conditioning becomes a factor in the fight, Chuck will be better prepared...... because age, skill, game plans and stamina/strength of your opponent in comparison to yours decide fights....
brian :chuck wasn't doing tr with me. michael: chuck already got the results, did you not see all the pics before he fought franklin? my work outs can not stop some one from getting knocked out, chuck was all over rich till that point. Someone asked what do i do for chucks aerobic conditioning. when one does the protocol that i use the heart rate is elevated to levels comparable to a wind sprint. chucks hr was up to 168 bpm while doing a static row(a client i have gets to 187). You basically are doing wind sprints on you whole body instead of just the legs plus gaining strength and muscle . so yes the aerobic threshold is used in a very intense way. Understand our aerobic system is used when our muscles call for blood. what causes more blood flow a jog or high intensity static contraction? Also the reason you have not heard of this training is because i developed it.
jason some one asked what i do for chucks conditioning. i answered. I'm very sure he did other conditioning at the pit but my point is his conditioning was improved due to my protocol.
Einstein is the man. He's a no bullshit kinda guy, and I like that haha. Thanks for the tips Ein, would it be possible to get like a sample workout? I know it's an area probably not to be delved into, but being as I'm 21 money is obviously a factor hahaha. I can't afford your intense training I'll bet.
One of my football coaches was talking about something that sounds like this when I was in high school. One of his thoughts was that it might make you strong at the point in the range of motion that you are training but not have the same benefits at the other points. Is this a concern or does a static exercise make you strong throughout the entire range of motion?
well it sounds like your doing a good job and your workout methods are sound..im wondering since this is getting him in such great shape and he has a 10th planet blackbelt as a trainer why doesnt chuck just do jiu-jitsu tournaments,,,he has gotten knocked out hard his last three fights ..i have heard of the belief that once your start getting knocked out good that it gets easier to get KOed.i know he wouldnt make the big money if doing MMA but ii bet chuck would do awsome at abu dhabi or other large grappleing venues.
