what should i add to my game im a blue in the gracie systems? beside the lockdown
ruggerguard, the truck, and heel hooks.
Spiderweb, for sure, and everything that he said ^^^
im in half guard right now
which dvd do i start with?
Mastering the rubberguard dvd. It shows the very basics of lockdown, rubberguard and spiderweb. The truck and twister dam good to start getting familar with too. Mts for all those as well
Focus on the GU curriculum and supplement with MTS. The GU curriculum I can personally attest does a fine job explaining many of the basic principles, though no system or curriculum will suffice to teach you everything. The Twister lesson in GU master cycle gave me a nice perspective in contrast to the Mastering the Twister DVD. They didn't contradict each other, they merely had different ways of explaining the principles. Obviously Eddie is the master of the twister, however other perspectives are healthy. There are moves that I learned straight outta GU that I use in my rolls daily, some of the stuff is absolute gold. I would focus more on lockdown and twister/truck game, Jean Jacques butterfly game, while waiting to personally work with a 10th planet instructor to appropriately learn the rubber guard. My opinion so you don't pop your knee.
I like Twister Side and truck stuff. :D
If you like lockdown master QUARTER GUARD and the MINISTOMP because that's how you force lockdown on the best guys
Also TOP HALF PASSES like TWISTER PASS are essential so once you get on top with your lockdown you can pass and smash
And of course don't forget the ultimate lockdown technique THE VAPORIZER for when you want to end a roll fast ;)
is their a roadmap i can use and what book or dvd do i start with?
Follow your nose, it always knows :)
I would say focus on drilling the warm ups.
It seems like a lot of moves to remember but if you don't think about it and just drill them, you can have them memorized real quick.
If you memorize them you will have a lot of the 10th Planet System basics. And to be honest a lot of it is not basic stuff.
One move to believe in, especially if you're getting mounted a lot in your journey, is the Reverse Alcatraz mount escape. Hener showed the same exact elbow escape variation deep into master cycle. Eddie says in MTS that Reverse Alcatraz was his go to saving grace while training for Royler. That's for sure a move to believe in
where do i start with mts?
