You will probably get a wide variety of answers on this, but the Cliff Keen Signature is low profile (against your head), bulletproof, and stays on your head if adjusted and taped correctly (most people tape the top two bands together). I had a pair of Brute Quadtechs for a few years and then my Cliff Keens for about 5 years. The Cliff Keens have been way better for me. I am sure others can weigh in on some of the less low profile models like the Tornado and etc.

I 2nd the Matman Ultrasoft, great product.
I wear a luchador mask, I have never had an issues with my ears while wearing it, then I misplaced it for a week and ended up having to drain my ear. So back to the mask full time.
It doesn't move on my head its fairly easy to take on and off with laces up the back, super low profile and it works, I just had the guy that made mine add a little extra padding over the ear and add some vinyl to the outside where my ears are.
only cons is that it gives your opponent more traction, and it is a bit warmer but you get used to that, but I think the intimidation factor makes up fpr it.
brute shockwave
^ know what? i kind of agree. is that sad?
None, just keep draining. Headgear is ok for protecting your ears, but it crushes all your training partners ears... just my two cents.
I think this is why a lot of guys liked the brute shockwave earguards. They are really soft.
I HATE rolling with dudes that have hard plastic ones. There's one brand -don't remember which- where it had sharp ridges all over. That will tear up your partners ears.
Whats up Scott! Happy Holidays... I just RECENTLY began wearing headgear again because I've bumped my lobes up to 0g plugs. The only adverse effect I've experienced, of late, is getting my head stuck in spots I REALLY dont want to be stuck in :( in turnabout it makes your game sharper ;)
My vote. CK F5 Tornado

Neale....u wear Headgear??? Funny, cause your ears are still all F'd up :)
I've been using CK Tornadoes for about 6 months. They hold up well and work just fine for me. I haven't gotten any complaints from training partners yet.
+1 for the Cliff Keen Tornado
Does anybody know where you can get the brute shockwave's at?
Thanks for all the tips so far! I just drained and .5 cc today w/out any help. So now that I know it really isn't that big deal, I will probably just wear head protection for a week or so until the ear fills a bit better.
A quick tip (although ya'll probably know this already), hitting the ear at a big angle with the needle AND icing it well before you sterilize makes it sooooooo much easier.
Your prob gonna need to keep draining it for a few weeks before it stops filling up. I usually let it go for 2, drain it...let it fill up nice and big for 2, and repeat till it stops. Also, do it rt before bed n wrap your head w that ear in it nice n snug...the pressure will help keep it flat n slow the bleeding inside
also after you drain it maintain manual pressure for a minute or so, then wrap it up.
You can search on Amazon for the Brute Headgeqr it IS the best.
I havent been able to find that style anywhere. They seem to only have it in the youth size.
Anyone know where I can order this Brute Shockwave earguard still? I looked on Amazon and they had none, and ebay just has a purple youth one for people 80lbs and under. Seems that the Brute Shockwave has the lowest profile of all and is nice and soft for our training partners' ears so everybody wins with these.
