Are we related?
Depends. Which area will you be in? Houston is really big and being on one side can sometimes mean that it will take one or two hours to get to the other side.
Lots of good gyms all over.

Similar question. New to the game & would like any recommendations for a good place to commit to in Austin, TX. Any help appreciated! Big fan of Eddie.
Whether you are into gi or no gi you are going to build a great base at any one of these places.
Phil Cardella at Relson Gracie (http://www.gracieaustin.com/) If you have seen Phil's fights in the WEC you know his guard his crazy good and offensive.

Austin has some legit black belts...Dave Thomas at Austin jiu jitsu...BB under Travis Tooke.(http://austinjiujitsu.com/ajj/index.html)

Vandry Jiu jitsu (http://www.austinbjj.com/) Apparently the guy is big dude and a leglock master and I have heard his name thrown around alot down here...don't know much of him than he is a BB under Carlos Machado.

Good luck. Best thing is to drop by each and try a class or prioritize by location and feasibility.
Another place I just found, but have no idea about is CTC.

Oh ok. That is like 5 minutes from where I am living. It is about 5-10 minutes away from a well-known MMA gym run by Saul Soliz. (http://www.metrofightclub.com/)
And maybe 15-20 minutes drive to my gym, led by a much-beloved figure around these parts (and this forum! lol) , Draculino.(http://www.graciebarratx.com)

Thanks for the info. Those are the three I saw on the internet. Gracie is close to the house, so it might be the most feasible. Is there a preference of Gi vs. no Gi?
Justin,
Swing by Austin Jiu-Jitsu and you're sure to get plenty of techniques inspired by Eddie. We are big fans of 10th Planet!
