Bobby R and I are definitely going with a good group from Port City MMA in Mobile Al. I walk around 155 but am considering the cut to 149. Ran through all my white belt divisions so far so also considering going in blue belt division so I don't feel like a sandbagger ...though i've only got around a year of mat time. Very excited as well bro, last tourney was Alabama BJJ Championships in B-Ham in December and that was my best experience yet. I'm straight murkin fools....again. It's a revolution. 10th Planet Decatur gonna be there?
signed.
I live in Atlanta, If I am not at a wrestling tournament I will be attending this. Would love to meet some 10th planet people!
we're going
Fantastic, best turn out yet
I'm definitely planning on going, but i damn sure ate too much, and trained too little over the holidays, so i gotta get my ass back "in shape".
Also, if i do make it, i'll have to compete quick, and jump in my car to head back to Alabama. Got 4 of my guys fighting in Rainesville at the Clariday show. Matt Vaughan is main event. So i've gotta get back no matter what to corner them.
We'll see how it all plays out.
Scott, cut from 155 to 149 should be cake.
Gonna google Clairday for the breakdown but you should come down for Atlas Fights at the Casinos in Biloxi sometime! We have a badass show at the IP Casino on Feb 19. Maybe some spots are still open?
Sounds good Scott, who's the promoter down there?
Brandon, you aint kidding. :O
Vaughan is fighting David McAfee. Big Keith is fighting, Raul is entering the 145 lb tourney so he can break some more ribs, and one of our guys, Cody, is supposed to have his first fight.
Finger is a verb.
BUMP! Bobby and I just arrived in Atlanta. Can't wait to frikkin weigh in, food/drink deprevation sucks!
Good luck fellas. Sorry Charlotte can't make it. We're are saving our dollars for Hayastan East Coast Championships in March and NAGA NC in April. Both here in CLT!
Let us know some results.
Thank you Jon. Woulda been good to have you guys here but definitely understand. Bobby and I both made weight. 149 for myself and 159 for him. Ate a feast and now chillin streaming the TuffNUff fights. Anyone gonna be there tomorrow?
we're here.
Damn I'd come watch the fights if I didn't have to work.. again:mad:
So, is the athletic commision allowing the fights now or are they just having them whether the commision gives the ok or not?
Gotta work today. Good luck fellas!
How did everybody do?
I went 6-1. Won 149 beginner nogi and placed 2nd in the whitebelt gi.Got 2 armbars, a rnc and a gogo. Won 2 on points and lost the gold on points in a match that ended while I was in top half cranking a Americana, "albeit as a last ditch effort." Bobby won the blue belt gi and placed 3rd in intermediate nogi, loosing only 1 match in the semi by a point "questionable." He had more matches than anyone in his division going something like 9-1 or 10-1. Videos to come :). I also saw Brandon Palmer place 3rd in lightweight expert. I'd love to see those matches if you have video man, props for going against the best that they had to offer. You held your own against black belts if I'm not mistaken. And so everyone knows 10th planet Decatur was there holding it down in the kids division. Brandon will have some deadly adults in a couple years by the look of things.
Im glad to hear everyone did good!
I took 2nd in Expert Lightweight Masters, lost to tough brown belt Marlon Loor Vera (think him & his brother run a school in NC, Jon do u know them) by 2 points i think. Was a tough dude and real nice fellow, but he played defensive as hell when he got up on pts, just kinda ran time out in my guard just staying super tight.
It was ok for not really training properly for the event, but 2nd place is still the first loser, I'll have to step it up next time.
Scott, Bobby, McCaghren...good to see you guys!
Huge congrats to everyone else that competed, whatever the result!
I stand corrected about slight specifics. Being first looser is about how I feel about my gi silver as well. How'd your guys do in that MMA show?
We went 3-0, smashed everyone bad. Would have been 4 or 5-0, but nobody would fight Keith (our 205 guy) and he was going to do the 205 tournament.
Raul (our 145er) killed both his guys. Raul has been training Muay Thai for years and years, and he normally breaks stuff when he hits it. He did this time as well.
And our 155 pro won pretty quick by RNC in the main event.
I have to say that i'm f-ing exhausted after this weekend, taking off work & driving to ATL friday to compete in NAGA Sat, only to have to jump directly in the car and race back to Alabama to corner our guys was rough to say the least.
Highlight Reel from 10th Planet Decatur. 6 Gold Medals.
Sorry for the poor video quality. I had some of the matches in HD, but it takes way too long to upload from here :(

He looks even more like Hasslehoff in person. Good seein ya Palmer.
Your students looked awesome Brandon. We're gonna make a training pilgrimage soon. no shit
Awesome fucking job dude! Marlon is a freaking killer. To even last and not get subbed by that guy is a feat in itself. He teaches at 3 different schools across Charlotte. I don't know how he is still a brown. It seems like he has been a brown forever. Oh, and his brown is under Roberto Traven.
No shame in that. Check out his website and look at this dudes wins. http://www.loorverabros.com/site/

:O
After the match he's like "great match bro" and gives me his business card and tells me to come train with him. How bout when you're so bad ass you hand out your card at matches.
Great guy!
Thanks for the kind words Mr. Friday, you're no slouch yourself. :D
I have feelings for you Palmer that are REAL!
HAH! Jon Helton, your magic is ALIVE and REAL!
