I know Eddie speaks highly of Marcelo Garcia and all the grappling greats.
I'm just wondering what he thinks of Braulio , as it could be said at the moment he's one of, if not the best grapplers in the world.
Thoughts anyone ?

Yes Braulio is awesome. I did a seminar with him at Dave Coles' gym in the UK a few years back ; gutted I didnt make the most of it beacuse I was so hung over and sleep deprived!
I'm curious too. Right now I have Braulio as the best no-gi grappler on the planet. I'm sure it can be debated, but seeing as how he moonwalked through his division and the Absolute at ADCC in '09 it's pretty hard to argue. I also really would like to learn his modified footlock that he broke Rafael Lovato Jr's foot with. He used that to sweep and pass Marcelo Garcia's guard which allowed him to get a crazy arm triangle/RNC combo for the win. And obviously everyone knows about his crazy Inverted Triangles.Quote:

Braulio is awesome! One helluva guy and funny as hell! Had me rolling the whole time! He showed me that triangle from HG and that sweet ass achillies lock, ohh and a very simple high percentage wrist lock ;)

He's definitely top 3 in the world, I havnt seen the Braulio/Marcelo match, anybody got it? How much bigger is Braulio than Marcelo??

Braulios a pretty similar body shape to me, hes about 6'3 190 lbs with long legs! he competes under 88kg hes been looking at cutting to welterweight for mma. He tapped marcelo twice in 2009, he beat him in the gi with a triangle at the pro jiu jitsu cup as well as at adcc.
Ah yeh we worked darces for weeks last year! we do alot of guillotines where you put your chest on tot he top of his head and just have ur hands under their chin rather than being deep in. so instead of closing the gap in the guillitine you pull up with your hands and push down with your chest on the top of his head..... i think ive explained that right.... :p
I think Eddie has made refernece to BE in a video I saw about it being good if top grapplers like Braulio could be involved in a televised grappling league or something (?) that Randy Couture was part of while he was having a break from the UFC a few years ago? Might have this wrong so don't quote me on this.
