WOW I didn't even recognize him.
That picture looks like the guy from Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
He acted totally unaffected by the damage. Great fight.
When you have the power of The Secret and positive thinking behind you, nothing can take you down. Not even physically deforming facial wounds or opponents who out punch you. That dude is the just right amount of crazy to be an awesome fighter, definitely one of my favorites to watch.
I wonder how bummed the ref would have been if Diego had wiped his face off on his shirt?
Sure looks like the picture of a WINNER doesn't it? *sarcasm* fucking dumbass judges
beautiful pic. kind of pic fighters dream of. sanchez is a warrior.
Did he use the Yes! cartwheel again? lol

He didn't do the "YES!" thing at all, and his walkout song was "La Bamba" yet he kept the mean face...I can see an argument for him winning the fight, he hurt Kampmann a couple times in the second, and finally got the takedown in the third. But Kampmann seemed to control most of the standup and defended all but one of A LOT of takedown attempts.
successful takedown defenses should count for points just like successful takedowns count for a crazy amount of points, it makes no sense, fuck the commission. its called winning diego, charlie sheen would be very disappointed in you
When they put the towel on his cut you could see it squirting through the cutmans fingers.kampmann won that fight
When all you can point out is that he got one takedown and clipped Kampmann twice in 15 min, I say he lost. Not to mention he needed a blood transfusion and plastic surgery after!
biggest ufc judge fail to date? ...probably not, which is just EVEN MORE SAD!
EDDIE FOR JUDGE! EDDIE FOR JUDGE! ...lets start the petition
whereas usually i'd lay the blame on the judges, i think in this fight the problem is with the scoring system itself. don't remember which promotions -- japanese, i think...? -- judge the entire fight as opposed to round by round, but in that system kampmann would've likely gotten the victory. i think there's a fair argument to be made that diego won the last two rounds, though i agree stuffing takedown after takedown should count for something.
there was a bunch of water on that towel so it was just watred down blood comeing through
Diego won second and third rounds clearly. Just because he cuts easier does not mean he lost the fight. He has 2 major cuts in his face and if you believe cuts should determine who wins a fight, why don't you go watch a knife fight. If the damage was so substantial, how come Diego was still pushing at the end of the the third round, where as Kampman gassed out in the middle of the second?
Diego tweeted this an hour ago
"Victory equals swollen face. Whatever it takes to #EarnIt"
and everybody started begging for pics. Nothing so far.
If you go to fight metric: http://blog.fightmetric.com/2011/03/...icial-ufc.html
and I isolate the perspective to rounds 2 and 3 then you can begin to see how close the fight actually was. And remember, the 10 point must system scores each round almost as a separate fight rather than the whole fight as a whole.
Diego was slaughtered in round one but came back to tighten it up in 2 and seems to have won round 3.
I don't know how your reading that but Fight metric scored the fight in favor of Kampmann giving him the first and second round and Diego the third. But if you look at the third round they landed the same number of strikes the only difference was Diego got the 1 takedown but since he missed three and Kampmann got back to his feet with in a few seconds that take down did not mean much. And if you break it down round for round Kampmann landed with a higher percentage of accuracy in every round meaning he was more efficient with his strikes.
Well, when I click the 3rd round button it shows a match of 19 to 19 even strikes for both fighters with 14 of Diego's being powerful head shots compared to Campann's 6 power head shots. Combine that with Diego's aggressive pacing and ring dominance, I can see how head shot loving judge would give it to Sanchez.
As for round two, I said that Diego was tightening it up, implying that it wasn't as one sided as the first round. Campann getting 27 significant strikes over Diego's 22 however Diego, once again, winning in the power head shot category with 18 to 15. Again, given the judges' proclivity for head shots and standing in the center of the ring I could see how someone could give him the second round.
The fight was closer than people are making it out to be and honestly, damage should have been a criteria for the judges. It wasn't like Diego was getting sliced with elbows on the ground, he was taking some serious punches and his face reflected that.
