He took some hard shots and never stopped coming forward. I had a lot of hope in the 3rd, he dropped Villefort right at the beginning then later he caught him in the rubix and transitioned into a triangle he was close to locking up, the to the jiu claw, so close. I think Matt would have won if it had been a five rounder. He'll come back better than ever!
I kind of prefer the puppet master to the triangle from rubix. The Puppet is a serious control position with a lot of effective finishing options. The triangle can hard to finish when your gassed when the majority of the finishes from the puppet are low energy.
is there a link to the fight?
he's definitely one of my favorites to watch compete.
ttt for Matt!

Matt is a warrior! It looked like his weight cut affected him greatly.... Did they say he cut just 4 days prior to the fight???

ttt for Matt!!!
Wow! Great fight. Villefort looked like his gonna do somethin.
Props to Matt.
I use the rubix alot , but had to come up with something for the wrestlers with dominate side control or a decent twister. I call it the barrell of monkeys sweep ( eddie probably got another name for it ) . Its from your back w opponent having side control you bicep slice his arm using that as your sweep you summer salt over, keeping shin locked into bicep you end up in side control yourself with a deep bicep crush (arm trapped by your groin) and free range to do a number of moves. ill post it soon so you guys can give me your insight. Its worked alot for me id say 70 percent cause its always there.
you 10th planet fighters have a fuck load of heart! and a pretty good ground game;) Im sure you'll learn from this loss and come back stronger...
TTT for Matt!
I been through worse, I can handle this...and he's right back in ;)
hell of a fight! Matts the man
Matt Horwich = Tough as nails! No one can say he can't hang. More training and a few more fights! He's gonna be an awesome fighter to watch rise in the ranks of MMA. Kind of reminds me of one of my favorite fighters, Stephen Bonner.
ttt 4 Matt. He's an exciting fighter and way to keep pushing forward even after taking big shots! Thats what makes him so fun to watch! I love using/drilling the rubix cube
