Input on my good friends situation please....

He has train at his his school for 1 year and 3 months. He pays 75 a month as of right now. The are moving to a new location and saying they are going to offer more classes? they are telling him that he will have to pay 100 a month after 2 months as this will be thier new rate for a year contract. He just feels like they are treating him and the others that have been thier wrong?The reason why is for the most part of the last year they havent had to many formal class,no bathroom, no air and little heat and now they say they are going to teach more class and be open more? I really dont know what to tell him except that if they were not teaching formal class before than more than likely the new school will not go like they say ...chime in bad or good

if i understand you correctly it sounds like you suspect they are making false promises and won't really be changing anything but the price. it's hard to say what might really be going on but for one i hate contracts on anything, cell phones, gyms, love....so i say he should find a better place with no contracts or at least a good reputation. i will agree that any 10th planet location would be better for him.

yea withoout a contract it is 150 and with a year it 100 a month. the place has a good rep and all it is that the instructor isnt running it as a class to much it more like open mat and sometime they will have class..The instructor sometime does even show up to class all the time ? also i just dont understand how they can change the guys price when he has been thier for over a year and been thier when the situtation wasnt so par.. just bc they say that they are going to offer new hours and more hours and classes will they follow through and is this fair....?

$100 a month is pretty standard but I don't like the year contract. I'd find somewhere else to train.

Bottom Line....If he is not happy with what they are doing go find somewhere he will be happy. Personally I would like to think they would honour the loyalty of the existing students and maybe after time a nominal sensible increase would be pretty much acceptable by most.

Yeah man. At my gym, after your initial contract is up your on a month to month basis. Also my rate has gone from 140 to 120 to 100 and may drop even less now that I'm helping out with the kids class. An instructor is there every night running classes teaching something 'usually' relevant. I would tell him to either A.address his concern in a diplomatic way with the owner and see if since he's been so loyal they will leave his membership alone since he's helped the gym grow by being a loyal student or. B. Go try out other gyms in the area.

steve new place is about 35 mins from me on average. Jermy school is going to be deep in charlotte so ..? the rib is getting alot better as i started back rolling last week at about 80%. Yea i am getting ready for naga in the next 2 weeks so i was planning on atleast visiting a cpl of school to get some fresh rolls in before naga...
