First time doing 10th planet!!!

Today was my first time doing 10th planet and i loved it. We started off doing 60 pushups, 60 crunches, and 60 squats. Than we streched i know this sounds cliche but i could already feel more flexible. After that we were shown a couple of techniques by the head instructer John Roderick and than we drilled them. I have to be honest at first they were pretty confusing but after drilling it about 5 times and John (the head instructer) explaining it to me step by step i think i really got the hang of it and could deffinetly see how usefull it would be and i could already see myself using them in the future. This all took like an hour. And after that we rolled for another hour, everyone there is as tough as nails and super nice and helpfull. I cant wait to go back! What was your first 10th planet experiance like, whether it was an actual class with a 10th planet instructer or a seminar?

Glad you had a great time Emir. Effectiveness is truly a beautiful thing isn't it? Hmmm...my 1st full on 10th Planet experience was watching Mastering the Rubber Guard disc one. The crystal clear teaching method + practical application of the techniques simply blew my mind....starting at the lockdown vs traditional 1/2 guard. I knew within minutes that I was going to be going full force and delving as deep into the 10th Planet Rabbit hole as I could go and as fast as I could go.

My first 10thplanet experience was a Erwann Marshall seminar in NY. I owned the DVDs and the Books but never had a 10thp instructor teach it to me. Id brought a cousin of mine to the seminar who'd never done jiujitsu a day in her life. she loved it! the seminar all together was prolly like 4 hours long or something along tho's lines, He had alot of patience with me and my cousins being so green to jiu jiutsu as a whole. He showed us his signature 100% once or twice but we drilled more basic path than anything else. Funny Im actually adding 100% to my arsenal as we speak MUWAHHAHA >:) Overall it was freaking awesome and I was beyond dead tired when we got out. the whole way home I was giddy like a schoolgirl.

My first experience with 10th Planet was many years ago at a seminar with Eddie ;) We were going over the Lockdown, whip up, old school, etc... When my partner kept tapping from my lockdown... I was falling in love with each technique, one by one. Then we started going over the basic path of Rubber Guard. Holy shiznit was I hooked!!!! I was already an agressive, tight, guard player. But this was a whole new level of "tightness and control". Been here every since :-b

I've been doing TKD for nearly 28 years and attained my 3rd Dan at Fort Bragg. The Gracies came in and opened my eyes to a new world. I rolled for years after using a mix of Gracie and TKD along with a few personal favs. Nothing and I mean NOTHING quite compared to the first time I tried 10th planet! I added the dvd series quick fast and in a hurry. I may not be affiliated yet but all my students LOVE the "new" style. Every class they beg for more Bravo!

That story warms my heart the way only a 10th Planet Story could warm a heart =D. Good luck with making your Tae Kwon Do School into a 10th Kwon Jitsu school. Maybe you'll be able to set up a spinning back/side kick into a rolling or flying submission =D.

From TKD to 10PJJ, I <3 it. Just don't lose your guys' spinning side kick, or spinning back kick. I don't know what you call it, but Tae Kwon Joe does it perfectly. Where is your school located Tony?

I do still love me some lower kicks lol. The school is in Sweetwater, Tn. Lower East Tn. I wish it were mine but I'm just contracted to add BJJ classes. Actually, all the fun and none of the headaches is an outstanding job hehe. We are constructing a new building right npw to house the mma program. It should be awesome! I can't wait.
