As an example how will Chris Herzog ever become a black belt when he trains in New York, and Eddie in California? Same as with everybody else not within daily driving distance of Eddie?

As to how to get promoted: there are several routes. That's been posted on several threads before. The search tool above will help you find what you're looking for.
I wouldn't worry about Coach Herzog or the other instructors. Eddie knows his instructors. They stay in touch regularly and Eddie can see Coach's teaching ability in the progress of his students, his instructional vids, and at seminars. Coach has a closet full of black belts; the 10th Planet one -- like all 10th Planet belts -- will come when it's time. I don't ask what coach wants to see from me for promotion. He told me what I need to work on so that's what I'm doing. I think you can have faith that Eddie has things well in hand and has done/will do the same with the teachers he is guiding.
no no no no no im not asking how white belts like me and u get promoted xD im saying how did chris get a brown belt from eddie if they live across the country? and how will he ever get a black belt if he never trains with him?
Most people that get belted don't train on the regular with the person that belts them.
I think Jason told you to look it up. Its been talked about several times! Eddie has talked about it several times! Do your homework and look it up!
where?
He did train with him. Coach has been to HQ and a ton of seminars. He also is a 4th dan in Judo and is a Sambo instructor. The combination of that grappling pedigree, demonstration of knowledge of the 10th Planet system, and the ability to teach effectively as demonstrated by his students' progress and instructional videos are how he got promoted. He'll get a black belt the same way when it's time. I was there when Eddie handed him that brown shirt. Eddie knows his instructors and students. Don't think for a minute he's not paying attention. :)
I know he is i didnt know he was a black belt in judo though
and i was just wondering how he was ranked that high without living in la
Just do your homework and research it. It's not hard.
Don't be lazy
they do tournaments/ mma fights
record vid send the vid to eddie
eddie posts it on the forum and after much hard work
*poof* magic
:-d
ok thank u
thats what i heard from the grapevine also, you either have to go to eddies HQ and do some damage on the guys that are a belt higher then you or compete and do some damage to go up in your belt ranking, thats a cool system imo. as far as giving the head coach a higher belt on his students accomplishments is questionable, its great for the 10th planet name or the whoever school name that the students are doing great in tournaments but to give the teacher all the credit for that is debatable. ofcoarse the coach deserves alot of credit for that but not to the point of getting promoted in belt ranking. the reason being is alot of schools get dudes that already have a good solid backround in either bjj, sambo, wrestling ect, and the teacher might just have to add very little to sharpen these guys games for them to go into tournaments and kicking some ass. on the other hand, if the teacher is got alot of newbs that never rolled around on a mat in their life and then brought these guys up to legit and solid jj competetors then i think he deserves a ton of credit. kevin green of 10th planet in delaware is a good example of that, he does a great job taking newbs with no skill at all and turning them into very solid jj guys in short periods of time, hes a great guy as well. jj school politics exist everywhere i guess
sweet thx for the info!!

Watch the first 3:30 mins. This will help. Instructors that live away from HQ need everything Eddie says in the video. They also would have to go to HQ, seminars, or video's of tournaments etc.etc.
