Besides the "Squeezing the Knee Technique", how else can you strengthen your squeeze?
Squeeze medicine balls!! It increased my squeeze exponentially!!
Also do triangles with it. You will be surprised at how fast doing med ball work will increase your squeeze.
Yeah medicine balls were a tip coach herzog gave me. It works awesome. You can squeeze them every which way
by doing the technique properly. I'm weak as hell but I just choked a guy out yesterday with one hand and he was 40lbs heavier. It's the technique, not your "squeeze". I even know a guy who squeezes his knee and medicine balls all the time because he worships eddie and I let him put a RNC on me without any resistance from myself and he couldn't do it. Then I told him to do one thing differently and I was almost out in a second before tapping.
Hey Jus, around here it is about squeeze! If you have never felt a 10th Planet squeeze then you dont really know what you are talking about. Trust, I could probably tap you with lockdown "squeeze" not even a submission. Of course you can choke out a guy with proper technique, but add 10th Planet to that and you lose your eyes.
technique of course is the key in all bjj subs, but if your angle is off just a little that squezze practice will raisae % of a sub!!!
Thighmaster.
Thanks for the tips guys. Are there any weight or sizes you guys would recommend?
I saw the video of Eddie talking about developing the squeeze and he stated that someone let him RNC them and he couldn't get the tap, thus starting to develop his squeeze. Anyone with proper technique can get a RNC on someone that's not even resisting, so this tells me he probably didn't know how to properly RNC at that time. As for this mystical 10thPlanet squeeze that every member possesses that can pop your eyes out, even if this were true, why would you need to have that hard of a squeeze if you stated that you can already choke a guy out with proper technique?
if you're using a technique but the angle is off, perhaps going to a different technique should be the solution instead of forcing it. Squeezing incorrectly can waste a ton of energy but I can see how that would make a difference in a competition if you don't know the solution to the minor angle error, so squeezing harder might be your best bet.
