10th Planet Jiu-Jitsu Facebook App

Hi Everyone,

I absolutely love the MTS videos, Eddie's books and the technique I see posted here and throughout the Internet. Where I'm not anywhere near a 10pjj moon, or hotbox, I find it hard to know the names of all the different moves and to find video's or instructions on them.

I was impressed by Marcello's technique page and thought if only 10pjj had something like this. One of my functions at work is to develop web based software and I've been wanting to make a Facebook app for a while now. So I thought this is the perfect app to get started with.

I've spent the last few days putting together a framework around the idea of being able to search for any position, attack, defence, setup, sweep, submission.. etc. and link them to what parts of the body they focus on. Also how each move links to other moves. This should help build paths, showing you how you can get to a position and what you can do afterwards.

I'm looking for some people that are interested in helping get this thing going. I want to brainstorm some ideas, designs, graphics, layouts and have contributors to upload content.

If this interest anyone (Eddie?) let me know. If you have any suggestions or ideas please post away.

Currently the app is NOT open for public, but my hopes are that with the rate I've been progressing it should be ready very soon.

I love the idea of developing paths with the moves and transitions but I would rather see it on this site as opposed to Facebook.

maybe if we had this, Royler wouldnt have been so scared to face Eddie at ADCC

That would be awesome to have some sort of visual web with each technique branching of to and from closely related techniques.

Agreed, but I don't like to wait around when I can just do it myself :) It doesn't need to be a facebook app, I just wanted to try my hand at it.

Yeah I thought it would be cool to be able to find a move or position.. say half guard / lock down. Then to know how you can get to lock down and then when your there to know what moves you can transition into. Kinda like the flow charts in the books.

...or maybe he'd be more scared after he saw all the moves that Eddie has been developing and mastering in :)

I've heard too many bad stories about developing for iPhones (too many restrictions) / droids (Fragmentation, lack of standards).. I'll stick to a simple FB app for now.

Sounds great! keep us updated on how it goes .

That sounds awesome! I think one of the greatest learning tools is teaching how the moves chain together and options if they fail.
