rubber guard trouble, need advice....

Ive just recently started goin to another school. And there are a ton of training partners there, and i have ran into a dude that has the same rubber guard denfense i do. and i dont know how to stop it. Imagine yourself having sum1 in your crackhead control. they protect their arms very well and you cannot get the arm to the mat. then they slide your butt up on one knee and bring the other knee up and sit back and posture. this is exactly what i do right when i get caught mission control but no1 has ever done it to me. ive been goin to this new school for a few weeks now and this is the first time ive trained with this certain dude and he is the only one so far that has done this. as soon as i felt that knee pushing my but i was like shit and started trying like hell to get the arm but the fucking gi didnt let anything slip... i couldnt do the pump because he had his arms protected too well and he had my hips elevated.... i gotta go back to work shit!!!

Try harder, pump your hips up harder to get his arms moving then make him overcompensate fighting the pump then zombie that arm fast!

How do you tepee somebody who is t-rexing? Or is "teepee" something I don't know about?

Pump off crackhead control, or try to break them down with a over hook or free new york. if nothing works abandon full guard and work open or something.

Go meathook then with your strong side hand underhook the leg as if you're going for an armbar. This'll disrupt his balance plus stop the guard break. Really threaten with the triangle too. This will get his attention on defense rather than offense.

I could not pump as my hips were too elevated. i could not get even my hand in there for the duda as my hips were too elevated and the suck ass gi created friction. however, i did teepee(with both his arms in) and he looked uncomfy but i could feel i was using more energy than he was being hurt. keep in mind, my hips were really high up, his knee was up breaking my crackhead apart. i knew as soon as a let go, i was getting shucked and thats precisely what happen. i could not get the meat hook. my shoulders were on the mat and my hips felt like they where a foot off the gound and he was almost completely postured back. i know this sounds like i could just hip bump sweep BUT his knee was in the way. like i said this is how i countered crackhead many of times and not once did i stay trapped. this was just the first time its happened to me.... mabye with my free hand, i could have gotten a not so deep hook (not deep cuz of my hips and his knee) down his arm right arm and swug my right leg around too trap his left arm and start progressively working a triangle.... but i could feel he was waiting for one of my legs to swing. so i was hesitant. or i shouldnt of let go of that teepee and maybe could have started to shimmy his left arm out to start working the triangle. but in that class the teach triangle escapes in the position we would of ended up in so that why i didnt go for it.

a taste of my own medicine eeerrrrrrrrr im pissed. im bout to pull my lil bro away from his homework and start working solutions. this is more important that "catcher in the f-ing rye" anyway!!!

brent, tho i could not get the meat hook, i would still like to know what you mean by hooking the leg and then faking an armbar. hmmm maybe you could email me picture of this.....?

Your saying he is almost fully postured up how are you playing rubber guard?

Is your back fully off the ground when all this is going on?

you tube kayak736 and look up my GOGO one and you can see i do just fine. but he shimmied his knee all the way up inbetween him and me and strong in posture. his left knee was probably posted on the mat to my right keeping my hips in place and he was probably sitting on his left foot. keeping his back slightly bent into me. this is strong man i do it all the time

yes my back was on the ground and since my hips were so high it extended my mission control arm. so i was fucked.

o i just seen you said off that ground. no my shoulders where on the ground but i cant really remember if my back was. i think pretty much just my shoulders were on the ground

You're not faking an armbar. You're scooping under the leg as if you were doing a basic armbar. That'll stop him from going straight up the middle with his knee.
Invisible crackhead might be a better option for you. Hard to stop the zombie or pump that way

kay i know the stack pump to deep hook to c-cup but just the position i was in i couldnt do that. i know it seems weird. i couldnt scoop under any knew cuz the but were out of my reach.... this is hard to explain. eerrrr idk what invisible crackhead is....

Sometimes you just have to abandon full guard and play open guard. If it means keeping guard its worth it

When me and some friends first got into the 10th planet style it was the only jiu jitsu we knew so we ran into problems that you're having which is that your opponent knows what your doing so he gets better at defending it. A problem for me is that when i started to use crackhead control a lot of people try to power out by standing up and then i would get slammed or have to let go and then i didn't have any control at all. What i started doing when they stand up is abandon crackhead control, sit up and wrap my arms around and high up on my opponents back. When you do this you have to be careful to keep your head up and on the outside otherwise they might give you a wicked guillotine. You can stick your left leg in the back of his right knee and with your right leg you can use your foot to push his left knee out further. I find that this puts him off balance. After that just use that bear hug you have on him and pull him back into your guard. If you down wanna play game all day i suggest you start with mission control and keep the heel of your free foot in your opponents thigh and keep pushing his knee out from under him. If you do that he's gonna have a really hard time postering up. Another option instead of pulling him back into your guard with the bear hug is your right leg could easily come in after you push his knee out and put a lockdown on his other leg and sweep his ass. Now yer on top and he's in a different fight. Havent rolled in a long time so if you guys have any comment on this post the critiques are appreciated.

iv been trying a new setup that seems to be pretty promising.. imagine this, invisible crackhead to ninja choke. sounds crazy.. but it has potential. i wish i could video the setup but all my training partners are too stuck up :(

you have to admit though, all of roberts advice is gold. once he gives you an answer, they may as well close the thread
