How many of you out there are wearing ankle sleeves?

I just did a competition this weekend where myself and my team kicked some major ass. However, my 2nd opponent was really strong and had an incredible base. I ended up in lockdown and swept him using a modified old school sweep. Towards the end of the match, he ended up in my lockdown again. This time he almost slipped out. I only wear shorts and a t-shirt when I compete. I generally don't have trouble keeping my opponents in my lockdown, but this time it was really close. He almost slipped out, and I was ahead by only 2 points. What are you guys wearing? Anybody combining things together?

I have used the leg tights twice in competition. Its helps but you should use em all the time in training to make sure your are adjusted because its a different type of grip when you have your legs around their rashG. I am guessing that ankle sleeves and thin but strong knee sleeves to soften knee landings will be the best for me. Those are both on my list of things to buy. Haven't seen any good ones in the stores.

they still got the thigh high ankle sleeves you wore in the rubber guard dvd at burbank!

whenever i know i'm going to use lock down and i care about keeping it, i'm going to wear ankle sleeves.

Spent about 20 bucks at a local sporting goods store for some basic compression ankle sleeves and it was a great purchase. Helps with lockdown for sure, also minimizes trauma to the shins. Also handy for rubber guard in securing your ankle with your wrist.

I always wear them. I need one for my reconstructed ankle anyway. ;)

I just feel uncomfortable grappling without ankle sleeves now a days, i haven't gotten a chance to wear my ankle sleeves in like 5 months, it's depressing

i do keeps the tights from ridin up!

I wear ankle sleeves, and often wear knee sleeves as well. I've been considering trying some calf sleeves, but I may as well just go with some grappling tights at that point.

Neoprin sleeves here. They're showing the signs of wear after 4 yrs but they're like family.

Ankle sleeves here. Much better grip when using the lockdown.

I used to wear them all the time but I get bad foot cramps almost every night and the ankle sleeves seem to make them even worse. I like them for the grip (especially in crackhead, IC, and triangles) but the cramps are murder.

ever since i started wearing the i cant train with out them.

One night i didnt wear ankle sleeves (its extremely hot in my gym) and guys were just slipping off my hooks and my lockdown left and right. I swear by the things. I also wear 2 finger sleeves on each hand so when my hands are sweaty I can hold my grips for chokes better. You can get them at any standard drug store (eckard, cvs etc).

Jason I hear a heat pad and a lifetime movie can help you with your cramps.

I rock them during comp always. Most of the time i wear them training as well. I can feel the difference in traction without them.

I either wear tights or the ankle knee sleeve combo

I stopped wearing them because I figure if I can use lockdown against someone in training without them, then I would only be better with them.

I occasionally wear tights, but really only ever so often. I don't want to be dependent on it

I wear 10th planet tights and hayabusa ankle sleeves together, but the tights are more for protection from skin conditions, and the sleeves are more for ankle and foot support. The sleeves definatly help with the lockdown though.

I feel naked without my ankle sleeves now, and I started wearing knee tubes also. The sleeves help the most in my opinion. I really like them for butterfly guard also when the dude is standing and i catch him behind his knee.
