What do you guys have in your library?

Once I had decided on jumping feet first back into grappling and start out Jiu Jitsu I had wanted to get a basic framework and idea of what I was getting into. The mindset and spirit of it all. x)

This lead me on a splurge to getting Mastering Jiu Jitsu by Renzo Gracie and a Fighters Heart and shortly after that the Fighter Mind, both by Sam Sheridan. Love the former for covering the history and basic concepts of Jiu Jitsu. It had some moves in them but they were not high quality pictures. Love the latter for covering the work and mindset of the big names to get to the top. :]

After that I ended up ordering Jiu Jitsu University and Mastering the Rubber Guard. Both are amazing books with very detailed depictions of the moves inside. Saulo's depiction of the turtle position has help't me greatly the other day when I was defending a rear naked and was able to stop the across hand and granby roll out to guard. Been also slapping some gogos from misssion control. Pretty basic stuff but still surprising giving my experience. :]

All in all I've added Drill to Win by Andre Galvao, Submission Wrestling by Royler, and Cauliflower Chronicles by Marshal Carper. All highly recommended by quite the avid reader.

I was wondering what books you guys had. Anyone read that Emperor wears no clothes book Eddie mentioned in his book? :cool:

MTRG book and DVD set, MTT DVD and Fade to black. oh yeah, the ryan hall guard flexibility dvd, which is awesome despite his depressive voice throughout lol :)

OOoh nice nice. ;D Yeah I looked through the basic Gracie Combatives coarse. Was sadly taking to much space on my hard drive and had to go. Besides I had Roy Dean's Blue Belt Fundamentals covering the basics. x) Got some of Andre Galvao's and Marcelo's dvd's as well. Very interesting stuff on the Omoplata by Marcelo. Sadly I seem to be having trouble getting the movement for the move down but all in good time.

Mastering the Rubber Guard has quickly become my favorite DvD though. Mad props to Eddie for putting it together. Very entertaining and informative. Help't me figure out what I was missing in the book.

Yeah I was looking through BJ's closed guard book and it seemed quite the keeper. Only got a chance to flip through it. Waiting for his open guard book to come out though. :] His biography was quite good from were I got. Was reading through it the other day at Borders. Taking more interest in his BJJ now.

the gracie combatives is pretty good imo for a begginner to get a grasp of how BJJ works but is lacking in a few area's however the 36 techniques they show i have mastered so in a sense great clear instruction however limited info

x guard ,drill to win ,submission wrestling , mtrg,mtt,unleashed , mtrg dvd gracie combatives , xtreme training , and if you smoke weed and havent read /own The emperor where no clothes you are missing out its reeks of the truth (and i believe the 11th editions there is a hemp version ) also try and get your hands on food of the gods by mckenna and the law of attraction book the gracie way and the gracie master text all good informative reads

I would highly recomend Sun-tzu's "The Art of War" for the mental/spiritual aspects. I have read it 7 or 8 times and everytime I do pick up something new and helpfull. "The Book of Five Rings" is another great one for the philosophies of war and everyday live.

ahh dont get me started.. iv downloaded pretty much every dvd series on jiujitsu, as long as it isnt on how to use your opponents gi to make a paper crane. and if you know one that i havent got, il prob have it by the next day. i guess it isnt normal behaviour to be that obsessive, but i have an excuse. maybe i should start an illegal piracy business...

Yeah I know the feeling. xD Got like anything useful you can get off of youtube. Quite a few dvd's downloaded. Pour through the books if I hit a roadblock. All I need is to scrape some more money together for training. Yeah ended up getting the Book of Five Rings and I love it! Very oldschool and the dude is right! Everytime you pick up that book you learn something new!

I've heard Joe Rogan talk about food of the gods and I'm very interested in checking that book out. Sounds way interesting to the stoner part of me. ;P

... ive got more than 500gb of instructionals that are applicable to submission grappling or mma. id prob have to buy a new hard drive if you wanted all of it. i dunno if its legal to advertise illegal piracy business but if you are serious you can pm me lol

Judo for MMA By Karo.
Mastering the Twister by Master Eddie
The X Guard by Marcelo is pretty effing awesome. I pull X guard all the time against people who do and don't do Jits, respectively.
