It's funny you ask. 3 weeks ago was the first time I actually made somebody go unconscious from a choke. it was a gogoplata. his eyes rolled back in his head and everything, thankfully I noticed this and stopped before he collapsed. i felt like a dick when i found out that he was only 15 years old... he was showing wrestling tendencies when we rolled so i kind of panicked and went overboard on him.

Not trying to be a smart arse, but I'm pretty sure most chokes will put someone to sleep. That's how they work: you don't tap, you pass out.
You might put more pressure on the windpipe, causing the opponent to splutter and tap quick.
You might have more pressure on the carotid artery/jugular vein, leading to a slower blood choke, and the possibility of the opponent passing out before they have the chance to tap, or realize they should tap.
You can wrap up a neck and squeeze the shit out of it or start to torque/twist it to get a crank.
(good example: guillotine)
Most chokes can have a variety of effects, but unless it's specifically a neck crank, or the pressure is supposed to be on the windpipe, then blood chokes are the way to go, and blood chokes will put them to sleep.

eh.. i always thought the straight jacket was when someone is blocking the gogoplata with his hand so you switch off by grabbing it, sliding your foot in his armpit, and putting pressure with the other one. I didn't see the attempt of blocking the gogoplata, he just went right into it(which is fine) but not really the purpose? idk :confused::(Quote:
