I definitely respect him for it. In the Olympics, it's not uncommon to see Judokas put their hand down when they take a fall, in a last ditch effort to stop the ipon. Some of them will injure or break their arms trying to stop the fall instead of break falling but when you put your whole life into something an injury can sometimes be a small price to pay in order to succeed.

to me its stupid, if someone finishes you with an injury or ref stoppage you still lose and now you cant train for a long time.

But he won the fight. It was not a loose-loose situation.
If pay is a concern, and you end up winning a fight with a badly damaged arm, how much money do you lose recovering and not being able to fight for half a year or more?
He needed that win with two losses against KJ Noons and Gurgel. He might had been afraid of losing his job.
He did what he thought is the right thing to do. I can understand that many people would have tapped, but Conor is in a different position and mindset. He wants to be a champion.
I wish him a speedy recovery.

$15,000 - $30,000 for the win but a potential 9 month gap until your next fight including the 3 month recovery time but you're still in Strikeforce.... OR $4,000 for the loss and then maybe fight again in 3-6 months in Shark Fights to potentially earn $4 -$15K? And looking at his record he's only been getting 1 fight a year for his last 3 fights.

I respect him for that. He knew what might happen if he did not tap. He finished the fight. It might be easy for some to second guess his decisions and say what we would have done. His livelihood was on the line, he did what he had to do.
I have major respect for him. I admit I did not know much about him before the fight. I knew he was a TPJJ guy, that alone was enough for me to root for him. But now I am a fan. He has heart for days. I wish him a speedy recovery and much success.

If its my job and I can bear the pain, I wouldn't want to tap especially if I thought I had the fight won.
Anyone that has anything negative to say about Conor, should IMO should STFU, go walk a mile in his shoes, then talk. He may be out for a while but he has gained respect, money, fame and probably new sponsorship options. If he tapped and lost it's not just the money he loses from that fight it's a whole new path in life that could be + or - millions of dollars. Not even Chuck Norris could make Conor tap. I wish him nothing but the most positive energy and a fast and full recovery.

Huen is a stud. Theres a reason you have the choice to tap. He ended up winning the fight so good for him.
Plus wasnt it just dislocated? Im obviously not a doctor but that should heal quick. The knee damage not so much though
