I think he was def setting up a JNT. He almost had it lockd in too but he lost the leg. Jimmy smith was calling it a d'arce but he didn't have it locked up more than the vice grip. I've only watched it one but that's what I saw on the first go around.

aha your right, i didnt notice it at first i had to rewatch it, cause he had the wrong leg trapped (but i dont think it matters) and didnt look like it, but the wrong leg hooked messed the sub up for him, stupid announcers thought it was a d'arce, i was lookin for the placement as they were saying it was a d'arce but i was saying how it didnt look like it was one... how wrong they were
Yep, announcers are a funny breed.. A darce is usually an Anaconda, and a Peruvian becomes a guillotine, etc..! :D I have some horrible examples in the back of my head, but I can't remember.. I think it was an Iron sheik, and they called it a rear naked.. Stuff like that, lol!
Yeah when the darce first hit in MMA, everyone besides Rogan kept calling it an Anaconda. Now people do Anacondas and guys like Mauro Ranallo insists it's a Darce, even after they interview the guy who assured Mauro it was an Anaconda choke.Quote:
