Kevin green at 10th planet bear is about 40 minutes south in DE an would probably be the best place to train. Your always more than welcome to train with me gab an meg too on the other side if the bridge about 15-20 mins from Boeing. Check out kevins though...worth the trip.
Excellent VJ, thanks for the invite and hospitality. I'll likely take you up on that AND make it to Kevin's.
Thanks again!
The drive to Rochester is a closer!!!!
Hah, whatever Scott! Zog told me it was like 5.5 hours. WTF!
I really thought it was like an hour.
I will admit that I am totally inept regarding northern geography and distances between places. I'll remedy that here soon.
If you want to stay in Philly, I strongly suggest Regis Libre's place there. It is run by Regis and Zak Maxwell, and their game is sick. Everyone is very tight with their movements, and Zak is great at making moves work against bigger opponents. I travel to Philly a lot, and I checked out a bunch of places. That place was easily the best training I found.
look up daddis fight camps. Brad daddis is a good guy
If you can't make it to Kevin's school in Delaware, I second Daddis. Brad has some great schools.
Rocco MMA is a good place to train in Northeast Philly.
I trained at daddis for years an gab still does from time to time. It's more of an MMA based school vs. a pure jitz place in my opinion. I do second that brad is a great guy.
Hit up michael vick.. i hear hes trained some great fighters.
yea, and we tried to take you to some chicken fights when you were visiting down here. what happened to that?
Yea you should definately check out Kevins gym if you get the chance. ttcombatsports.com for the schedule and what not. When I was state side I drove past 3 mma/jiu jitsu gyms and it took almost an hour each way and it was well worth it.
Maxercise, if I remember correctly, was run by Steve Maxwell, Zak's father. Not sure about the details, but they went their separate ways. Now I hear Regis spends a lot of time in San Diego with the Ribeiros, so Zak teaches most of the classes. And his technique is awesome. He actually gave Romulo Barral a hard time at the Mundials this year. Worth checking out.
Hah, awesome, I'll take a wedding dress...VJ, what will you have??
Lets get these wedding dresses and sell them at Eddie's seminar.
BJJ United is a great gym. Wilson Reis teaches the nogi classes and he's an awesome instructor with grueling workouts planned for you. They also have wrestling, muay thai and kettlebells. Jared Wiener teaches the Gi classes and he's very knowledgeable.
All the rolls are 6 minutes, start from standing and the guys train real hard without any dudebro attitude. It's 180/month.
Good luck!
