Hey, I've been lurking here for awhile and decided it was time to join the forum. I have a basis in jui-jit but am currently training Kyokushin. I hope to start training jui-jitsu again in a couple of months.

Hello.
Kyokushin rocks! :) I quit though, the katas and deep stances were killing my knees, I have a knee problem. In jiujitsu I can work around it, in kyoukushin I can't performs certain movements, which is kind of sad, it's a great style.
Welcome to the forums brother.
Yes yes. Welcome uhm...here...again. Btw it is a nice style. Good to have you!
yeah, I love Kyokushin...the deeps stances help alot with flexability and with the katas it's kind of like just turning your brain off and letting your body just flow into the next form I find kata very relaxing...and the sparring and conditioning is insane...
Yep. What made me quit was a partially torn tendon in my knee.. You know when you are deep in a stance and is supposed to keep perfect form while moving from stance to stance, that hurts.. And when you are supposed to stand on line and throw up a left mawashi, right mawashi, left.. that pivot killed my knee, the reason I messed it up in the first place. But sparring is great, you develop heavy lowkicks, insane kicks all over, and it's a killer style! :) "Insane" would be the correct description of the conditioning, yes, lol! :D Andy Hug was my hero, and still is! :)
Oh yeah, Hey there :-) I like Karate too, I starting off in an Okinawan Uechi-ryū style.
bye
