My buddy Shea was Marine Special Forces during the invasion of Iraq. He told me the only thing that beats the minigun is a turret mounted 203 launcher. Fought the first three weeks with an "aquired" enemy SKS because they were too far ahead of the supply line.

I imagine he was talking about the Mk 19 automatic grenade launcher. the 203 is mounted to the m16 and fires individual 40mm rounds. My experience with the Mk 19 in 2 tours to Afghanistan was the second a little bit of moondust got into those guns, you had to clean them otherwise they werent going to fire correctly. yes they were capable of unleashing fury in the hands of a competent gunner, but they malfunctioned frequently if not cared for. driving around the desert for days didnt always allow you to clean these guns and the armory wouldnt always give us enough LSA (lubricant). they would sometimes give us less than a tube for the entire convoy which could have had several Mks.

and miniguns are friggen sweet
