Greatest 10th planet dream ever?
I woke up today with the assurance that i had just had the single greatest jiujitsu dream ever.. It went a little something like this..
I had just finished my flight to Cali to go train at HQ.. As I walked up to the door I saw a 1968 Shelby Gt 500. (I assumed Joe got a new toy).. I walked in the doors.. And saw dozens of 10th planet students rolling around. Rubber-guard to my left, twister-side to my right. For some reason I felt like i had been there a thousand times. And without missing a beat I jumped right into the mix. I noticed Renato had decided that 98 degree weather wouldnt stop him from wearing his Gi, and Eddie was over in the corner rolling with some big wigs to prepare for his rematch with Royler (Dear god, please let that happen).. And so as i rolled, I noticed that just being in HQ had upped my game. I felt like everything was just happening so naturally. And eventually Eddie decided to let me roll with him before i had to head back.. And after we rolled for a few minutes, and I easily manhandled him.. (I mean.. what did you expect.. i AM a white belt after all :P), Eddie surprised me with my blue belt..
But i wasnt aware of the responsibilities that came with this belt promotion. After he handed me the belt.. the room went silent as everyone gathered around. It was so organized that i could tell they had done this many times before. And as soon as I put the belt on.. (yeah, i wear a belt with my shorts/rashguard.. whats it to ya?).. It became very dark outside. And Eddie informed me that there wasnt much time to explain.. He went on summarizing the REAL reason for the 10th planet movement. And how the tournaments and whole gi/no-gi rivalry was all a front. And that it was something much bigger than that. Because you see.. 10th planet was ACTUALLY a new mystical force that was sworn to protect the world from, we'll call them evil soldiers. And that we were constantly training in order to be prepared for the final battle that would take place between us and the evil forces.
Right about that time what looked like a tornado touched down right outside of HQ.. but there was no wind accompanying it. And i then noticed in the background many more just like it around the city. But when it withdrew itself into the sky.. it had left behind roughly 10-15 of the "soldiers" .. right then Vinny ran out followed by about 5 students ranked blue belt and higher.. And ran directly at the evil forces taking the fights straight to the ground. It was the most amazing display of 10th planet JJ i had ever seen. The evil ground troops attempted to throw some cheap shots (aka attempted to stab some kids).. but there arms were instantly snatched up in omoplatas and armbars, disarming them before they got a chance to do any damage.
My new mission was clear.. destroy anything wearing bright blue pants, no shirts, and medal helmets. So as the dream continued.. I found myself armbaring and gogoplata..ing the enemy left and right. And after we had taken out all opposing forces.. we met back at HQ, took rollcall, and had discovered that we had lost a few representatives. So we pulled out a map, decided where would be the best place to set up recruiting stations (moons).. and continued training for the next battle. But then something amazing happened..
I heard the doors open but paid no mind.. until i noticed everyone staring silently.. So as i looked over.. i saw them.. The ENTIRE gracie family.. All 5 trillion of them (it was more like 50).. Rickson in the front. Eddie and a couple Black belts approached them to see why they had come. And Rickson explained that they too were at war with these same evil forces, and that they had come to make peace. And continued on saying that they would appreciate if we would except the offer and train together with the gracies. Us teaching them what we had learned, and them teaching us what they had learned. In order to make the perfect fighting style. (Apparently if you know bjj and 10th planet you have the ability to destroy armies of evil soldiers.. who would have guessed?), So Eddie agreed, they shook hands.. and HQ was filled with many different styles of JJ rolling together sharpening each others skills minute after minute.. And that was when i woke up to a call asking me to come in to work early to stock shelves.. Dang you k-mart.. but nevertheless. it was a great dream to be a part of.. Am i the only one that seems to have JJ dreams at least a few times a week?
