New Rubber Guard Path

Hey guys, I am a BJJ Blue Belt who a month ago took the GI off for good. My NO-GI game has been improving leaps and bounds since then. Anyway,I have come up with a new path for the Rubber Guard. Basically you have your man in Mission Control, but can't get the Zombie. Instead of doing the Pump or transitioning to the Duda, I have been working with a position I call Animal Control. Basically all you do is hug your knee like you would with New York, but your guys hand still isnt on the mat (Animal Control also works better to keep your man down when he is going wild than Retard Control i my opinion) After he calms down, I take my hand that isn't hugging the knee and clear the neck like you would to enter chill dog, but his hand still isn't on the mat. Then at this point I enter Invisible CrackHead. Aftwards I execute the Zombie, and work for omo's, gogo's, loco's,etc.
So what do you guys think of my new path? I find it works especially well with guys who understand the traditional path. Feedback would be appreciated.

How are you keeping the guy down if you're completely letting go of MC to clear the neck? Guys are doing this from DB and that seems way better.

O boy!!! hear we go, you clear the head with out the hand on the mat and your partner just hangs out there cus he fills like your working so hard its the right thing to do? I think we can file this with the "cris cross" controle. If this is working for you I would find some new training partners.

I've done this from time to time. It makes your mission control ubber tight. I use it to help calm down a guy who is spazzing out. This works good on guys with broad shoulders that you might not be able to get a good crackhead on. Not much use for it other wise.

I think the traditional path takes a lot of reps to master without trying to find new paths that eddie or his black belts have developed yet. Maybe film it and show eddie?

I often hug the knee like that to calm the guy down. But as already mentioned as soon as you let go of the ankle there is nothing stopping him blasting out, the only way this would work is if the opponent just sits there and does nothing which as you roll with better guys just won't happen

Actually a week ago I tapped out two Purple Belts using this path, The key is speed and really tight leg hooks. I probably should have said this earlier, but when clearing the neck, i am still hugging the knee and also i drape my foot that was on his hip over his Upper Back/Neck area and do leg curls(You can also Double Bag if you want to). And also, I have put in a ton of hours and reps with the traditional path, and I agree that it is the best way bar none to isolate your opponents arm. I wouldn't even say my path is a high percentage one, but is an option you can use when your opponent is concentrated on defending the traditional path. Basically the same deal with the Crowbar and the Defcon 4 Calf Crank, it does leave an obvious opportunity of escape, but it is an option.

Like I said earlier, you can Double Bag if you want to, but I f you choose not to, than you can achieve the same goal. What you want to do is, while still tightly hugging your knee and doing leg curls, wait for when your man is completely still and clear the nek in one fast explosive. I am sorry I dont have video of me using it, but give it a try, you might like it!!!

this is probably working because the people you train with are not at a tenth planet gym.

Yeah, I can get away with crazy shit against people that don't know rubber guard...like getting the swim move from mission control...

Serious... with "Invisible crackhead" it's much easier to get the zombie. Make sure you double-bag all the way tho.

Nope not yet. My replacement arrives this week. Can't wait to get out of here though. 2012 huh. God I hope i'm not there, however I probably will be. Then the smashing will begin.
