I have a ton of square footage with more mats on the way for my gym, but the floor is an old cement floor with a horrible surface. I'm looking for good ideas on how to level them out before I put more mats down. The wrestling mats aren't as hard to level, But I will prolly get some more tatami style mats for one section to save money.
Any ideas or experience that could help would really be appreciated, Thanks!
Put down a layer of osb its cheap as hell just make sure its not getting too wet when you clean your mats.
You can always put a layer of carpet padding in there as well.

OR GO OLD SCHOOL like me. Run down to your local carpet store and tell em you want their old used padding. Layer it so its as soft as a crash mat, stretch a tarp over it w/ bungee cords and get your jits on!

It's very easy to use this product to level your concrete floors! After leveling your floors there's many options to finishing the floor.
how many square meters do you have pal and whats the condition of the floor like do you have to just want a smooth floor or is it full of pot holes what ???

It is kinda like the instructional video above, but its really bad on the left side of the gym. The right side isn't too bad so I'm not too worried about it over there.
by the looks of it i would just grind it smooth using a 30 grit and a 120 it will just smooth it out nicely and expose any stones you have in the floor thats only going off these pictures if you have any more detailed ones i of the major problem area i can work some thing out for ya
That's gonna be a lot of concrete. Do you own or rent this space?
Hey, I work for a floor screed and resin contractor and would normally suggest to lay a self smoothing screed topping. The contractor should pin level the floor to make sure that it is as flat and smooth as possible. I have attached a product that we use regularly. Hope this helps

I rent the space, but the landlord doesn't care what I do to fix it. The ideas above are pretty good but I do have some real horrible areas on the left side of the gym that will require some serious fix'n. I'm worried about the expense since we don't have alot of money. The problem with most guys at my gym is they have desire, but don't have any money, so I let people skate a month here or there so they don't have to stop training when they are broke :-)Quote:

That's why I'm leaning toward your idea, $$$. Its really bad in some spots. There are like some little mounds in a couple places, followed buy a three inch drop in the next... It sucks! haha. The Self leveling stuff would work best but I'd have to buy a shit ton of it :-(Quote:
