10th Planet Mobile hotbox invades Destin for the "ECC"

We brought a group of guys down to Destin Florida for the Emerald Coast Classic, a tournament that is put on by the Capitao gym run by black belt and Pan Am winner Danny Ruiz and Daniel Silva. That gym has kind of become a joking rival, they like poke fun at our 10th Planetness, we like to consistently prove them wrong. It really has become quite the relationship. Anyways, we had our youngest killer Blake Jordan competing for the first time. He's 17 and has been training only a couple months! He took 1st in the beginner Nogi. Bobby Rivers showed up again "as usual" taking silver in a combined blue/purple belt gi division and silver again in the advanced nogi division. I was competing for the first time in blue belt and managed to take 3rd in the gi. In nogi the intermediate division was combined with advanced, i won my first match and lost my 2nd. This tournament was definitely a really good learning experience. Don't show up 3 pounds heavy after having not eaten or drank anything in 18 hours, proceed to cut that 3 pounds wearing sweat suits in the Florida sun and then expect to feel good in the slightest bit. It apparently just doesn't work like that....either way here are the videos that my phone was able to record.

And my footage that's uploaded so far. Probably the loosest i've ever been in competition. Gotta tighten my rubberguard up again, but the bad cut day of and lack of food was not helping at all. Either way after having a couple looses I feel like I know where my training needs to go from here. Winning a whole bunch of white belt tournaments didn't really make me that much better in the end, it's really the losses that motivate you.

Nope. It was Blake and Scott. Glad they were able to stay entertained during the match and not turn the phone 90 degrees.

That is the worst case scenerio for a flying armbar imo. It usually works itself out. Had some really tough matches this time and some huge upsets. We'll get the vids up soon.

Me and Scott both had to cut 'day of' so we were flat and lacked explosion. Still good mat time and more experiance which is never bad.

Blake Jordan lived up to our expectations and sliced through his first tourney like butter. He's probably gonna have to move up to intermediate nogi soon so he can have a challenge. Him and Scott are gonna have some pure 10p finals matches in the future.

Rotating the Iphone fixes the problem when viewing it on the Iphone but when you upload it to a computer you get a vertical playback which is no good either. Or maybe im doing something wrong. But back on topic you guys did a great job. Congrats

The rules meeting, which 10p guys have to make it too, was funny this time. It seems like they made it up as they went, pretty much just makin anything unique to 10p illegal. In advanced nogi and I quote "You can do anything you want" pause catches eye contact "except twisters." He then went on to make the calf crush from truck and hip manipulation or electric chair illegal in lower divisions. They blame their blatent prejudice on "insurance". We are flattered by this and proudly rep regardless. I honestly think they're comin around. If not we'll just bring it to them:)
