Mmmmm that's good eating?

Hey guys need some help with my diet. I've got breakfast, lunch, and snacks down but I'm having trouble with dinner.
I'm pinching pennies so hard they're screaming for the next couple of weeks so until I got the extra for Dolce's or Paleo cook book I'm on my own.
I plan on entering my first tourney in a bit over a month and need to drop a bit of weight before then.
Anyone care to share their favourite healthy dinner meal recipe's?
Whole meal plans would be cool to if anyone has the time.

Well most Jiu jitsu players dont eat for a week before tournament so make weight. But dinner is a tuff one. Need protein plus light carbs cut down on veggies mosdef no starches. I like count calories but make sure to get lots of protein less carbs low sugar no salt forget milk & potatoes. sweet ones ok. veggies have alot of carbs so watch out there and fruit has alot of sugar. Everybody is different tho. Thats just me I need 1,200 calories a day to keep at 170 with working out twice a day. talk about a slow metabolism. I love food so I'm still around 210 lol sometimes at 185. 5'6" also

Unfortunately not eating for a week isn't on the cards for me, I need energy to train and lose the gut.
I'm 5'8 walking around at 90kg (198 lbs, I'm told I wear it well) but want to get down to 79kg (174 lbs).
I've blown up from being injured and thought I could get some healthy input.
I'm not blind here I know what foods to eat I just thought I could some healthy meal idea's thrown at me.

There are entire books dedicated to meals under 20 bucks for the family of 4 that are delicious.

Cutting weight for my fight I ate a lot of grill chicken light seasoning and steamed/grilled veggies for dinner. Make sure it's not right before bed.

Starting early is smart, I suggest using a tool such as fit day. I don't agree with super low carb, high protein diets, they are crash dieting and your body pays for it. Find what your daily caloric intake should be, this can be determined by a few different websites simply google it. Once you have a base caloric intake (the amount your body needs to function in a single day) figure out what you are burning roughly during your exercises. I've seen guys post what a moderate 30 min roll is but I forget it off the top of my head. Try to maintain as negative of a caloric intake as you can (below your determined daily requirement) and your weight will begin to shred off.

Cost conscious is simple, go to the local store and buy chicken breast (hears the vegans screaming) and baby greens, spinach, carrots, apples. Mix it up, but stay away from greasy shit food, have fun with it. Fry up some chicken with some bell peppers in some olive oil, no need to be a chef, experiment and find what you like. I personally will take a small amount of peanut butter, mix it with olive oil baste my chicken with it and bake it. The key is to simply track your calories, which is simple as long as you note portions use either the items nutritional facts or google it. Find yourself a good vinagrette or two, they are super low in calories, taste great and are good for you.

Keep snacks ready, find some healthy snacks. I always keep carrots and cold peas in the fridge. If i get supper hungry i resort to that. I also usually keep some muscle milk light around. If i get a craving for something sweet, the 100 calorie packs come in handy and are great for before or after a hard practice when you find yourself not wanting to eat something heavy.

Don't be afraid to have a cheat day once a month and go out to eat with your girlfriend/friends and have that big ass greasy what ever it is you want, its the only thing that usually keeps you on the diet is knowing you can cheat form time to time. Try and keep away from the booze as much as you can, that shit sets you back farther then you can ever imagine. Nothing I like more then to tie one on with my buds, but the effects it will have on you can slow your progression for days.

Most of this stuff is all crap my sister (A registered clinical dietitian) has taught me and its not nearly as technical as she would cover it. The basic idea is eat healthy, good carbs (whole grain pasta), good protients(Chicken, lean beef, quality pork cuts) , good veggies and fruits, but balance it never to much of any single item.

if you eat carbs try and keep em clean oatmeal, whole wheat, and potatoes are good sources. Fedor Emelienenko lived on potatoes as a child. If your source of protein is gonna be chicken make sure the skin is off. That will eliminate most of the fat. If you decide to eat oatmeal and need something sweet to put on, don't use brown sugar, use honey. but if you are trying to cut weight I recommend eating the oatmeal without any sugar sources, or not at all and focus more on protein intake.

also fyi if you eat lots of protein don't blow a load on your girlfriends face because it will taste bitter. I learned that the hard way. not from tasting it.. oh fuck it never mind.
