end of the world, new age jump in global conscientiousness, aliens or absolutely nothing?

Nothing will happen. Perhaps 2012 was the highest number Mayans could count to.

The world has been here a long time and despite researching it somewhat, I still don't understand the thought process behind creating your own dateline, then assuming that at the end of this timeline you created is the destruction of the world.
It was man that made the calendar we work to now, so man just needs to go ahead and extend it in my opinion.
Though saying that I don't know everything there is to know about the situation so who am I to say?

I can't wait for the next apocalyptic prediction that will supersede this one when nothing happens.........again

I heard there is supposed to be a super high increased rate of solar flares that will drastically change the earths climate

The solar flares could take out our electical grid causing world wide chaos

I dont think anything will happen the mayans never even said the world will end or anything like that it was just supposed to be the end of an age which has happened a couple of times in their calendar already and is supposed to be a time of celebration. Some people just misunderstood it and thought it was the end and then all the oppourtunists jumped on the band wagon and bought out books on their theories of how the world will end.

The thing about predicting using something that isn't in the language that is comon to you or if it is in a code that you didn't wright it is open to interpretation . The human mind has abilities to make all kinds of connections that may be real or not, this raises even other questions like is there truth in math, but any way what i'm trying to say is that the mayen calender doesn't line up with ours so you can make thousounds of perdictions depending how you line them up same with Nostradumass and all that shit. But i wont belive anny of it unless they are a billionare from predicting the future.

did anyone watch the Ancient Aliens documentary on the history channel?
It says that the orginal creators of the calender did this because we would be in a new age... apprently we are in a very shit age right now and 2012 is our rise out of it..... whatever the hell that means

Well, for sure, if we don't kill ourselves off already with nuclear winter, pollution on a catastrophic level, zombie apocalypse *fun times,* and we manage to survive as a race for another 7-9 billion years, Earth will be gone when the sun starts to run out of fuel and turns red giant on us. So unless we can figure out how to Star Trek it off our home planet in the next few billion years.....
