HQ trip! Couple ?'s please help

Okay guys so it looks like i will be in Hollywood 10/30 through 11/4, and i just had a couple questions.

1. what are some good hotels within walking distance of legends? I was looking at getting a room at the Hollywood Hotel. Any info in this area would be much appreciated.

2. Considering i am going to be making it to ALL the BJJ classes morning and night. Is it going to be "safe" for me to walk to my hotel from legends at 11pm ish in the evening? Remember i am from alaska and we dont have to worry about walking in any areas at anytime.

3. Is there going to be classes on oct 31st? because if there is not and i am going to miss out on 2 classes in my trip, i will just move it back a week so i can make as many classes as i can.

I just want to say that I am so excited that I am going to acually be training with all my 10th planet brothers and sisters that me and my wife are looking into moving closer to a 10th planet so i can train.

Any other info from you guys would be great. Please keep in mind I have never really been out of the state of Alaska so this is going to be a experience for me.

Not sure about hotels but hostels nearby are disgusting! I'd never go back again lol.
Walking during the day is fine. At night I've never had any problems but the area is a bit sketchy. I was taking the bus on Santa Monica waiting by the bus stop you see many crazies. But then again I'm from NZ and L.A is scary as fuck by yourself at night

I think Dawna should work on a place to stay for all the pilgrims! It's always a struggle and it would be cool to stay under the same roof while training. I've been lucky enough to stay at some friends but having some sort of rio connection type of housing for HQ would be fucking awesome! Just saying Dawna *wink wink*

Yeah, Hollywood at night isn't what I'd call "family friendly". lol

Are you going to the bus system in LA is not that great. Personally, I'd think about renting/buying/borrowing a bike while you're there. I know that there is a Day's Inn that's decent in Thai Town, which is not that far on a bike, but I'm sure there are some others within biking distance. I'd say that's your best best!

If you happen to be a member of a certain Salvadoran street gang, you should feel very at home walking around HQ at night these days. :-)

Well MS-13 huh. Looks like i am going to be calling a cab before I leave any buildings at night. lol I will hit you up if i need a bike but i think i will just cab it. Man i am getting really nervous now. If anyone would be willing to drive me from Legends at night that would be great. Hotel i am looking at is less than a mile away. I am 145 also and i sure dont look like a "Gangbanger" so i should be fine.

I grew up in the "hood" so I find these kinds of conversations kinda funny, just because certain areas arent better than others doesnt mean crime is gonna happen every other half second the moment you step foot onto the sidewalk.

1. Dont carry yourself like a pussy, if your walking and looking over your shoulder every other second with an overall nervousness about yes someone might wanna mug you for being the soft guy on the corner.

2. keep the fancy crap at home. Got a nice watch, chain, and or ring thats nice and shiny ? leave it at the hotel.

3. Dont be a douchebag. just cause I said dont be a softy doesnt mean you have to eyeball every other person walking past you. just follow the old adage of "mind your own buisness"

4. If theres a group or just one guy calling you over turn around. at most they will call you a pussy and unless your a mcfly dont let it get under your skin.

I realize some people may think the "tone" of my words is kinda harsh and assholish but i honestly mean them with the best of intentions. Just relax and be optimistic. I lived in manhattan for 16 years and I almost got mugged once, thats pretty good for 16 years in the heightz. oh I was stabbed once but it was by my brother so i dont think that counts as some street crime you have to worry about.

Well thanks dude appreciate it. I am a rather calm and passive person who is used to minding my own buisness anyway. I just come from a very small town and it is intimidating coming to somewhere not small. Anyway i am always positive and i dont think anything is going to happen.

Hollywood hotel isnt that far away ... but yeah a bit sketchy to walk ... I had a rented car :)

Its also only blocks from the church of Scientology if you want to hit a service ....

Well congrats again man! I currently out with a dislocated toe (lol), but I can't wait to start training again soon. Also, cant wait to come visit HQ and roll with all my buddies! Take care bro. : )

Dude, Eddie would bike to class all the time. Cabs are expensive in LA. I seriously think you'll be fine with the bike, but whatever makes you feel comfortable! ;)

Yeah, dude, I was just joking about the gang stuff. They're around, but I've never felt in danger. I used to walk the half mile from the Vermont and Santa Monica train station to HQ all the time, and I never felt unsafe.
